I've had my provari now for 7 months. I've never actually cleaned it except to swab the connector out with a qtip. I keep reading about alcohol baths but never what it actually is. I looked on the provape site but didn't see anything about it. (maybe I didn't look hard enough though). Can someone tell me exactly what is involved and what to do to clean my provari with alcohol? Does this involve pouring alcohol (from my medicine cabinet) down into the tube or what? And do I really need to do this and if so.. how often?

Thanks!

I wouldn't do it unless my ProVari began misfiring (sometimes juice creeps in and you may not know it), but yes, it's a recommended (by ProVape) method of internal cleaning. About a shot-glass of Isopropyl alcohol down the tube, swirl it around, dump it out (it can be repeated if needed), and leave it to dry overnight before attempting to use it. Compressed air can be used to speed up the process, but it should still be allowed to dry overnight. Sounds like it should be a no-no, but it's really a yes-yes. :)

here's the cleaning proceedure right from Provape ;) since the one time I 'had' to do this as my provari was coming up with a ton of error codes and I couldnt use it in any setting, I've cleaned my units habitually, once a week for preventative maintenance...

I had a Mini that would give me an error code every time I hit the button and Provape suggested that I give it a bath. They told me to use 99% iso alcohol. Pour about a shot glass full into the tube, shake it around, pour it out and let it dry for at least 8 hours before putting the battery back in. I followed these instruction and my Mini started working like a new one.

I highly recommend using as high of a percentage of alcohol that you can find. We recommend using 99% but if you can't find it, 92-91% is okay.

The reason for this is the lower the percentage, the higher the water content. The higher the water content, the longer it needs to dry and potential for possible corrosion on the circuit board.
