The last few T3 heads that I got have some type of odorless oil coating on it, but everything taste like it was dipped in used motor oil. Usually rinsing with hot water for new heads does the trick, but not this time around.

I tried everything that I could think of, including rubbing alcohol, boiling, etc. Has this happen to you? Any suggestions on how to get this taste out?

Thanks in advance!!

Bummer... out of ideas. Wait! Idea! Are the T3 heads absolutely genuine Kanger? Are all 5 in a 5 part skin pack, or in individual plastic bags? I bought, what I thought were Kanger and they were fakes... nothing but problems. Tossed them all in the "to be rebuilt" box.

they look like the real thing, but i think they might be fakes. Probably are.... did get them from US vendor tho. Just can't seem to do anything to get that taste out: appears to be some type of oil coating, and I'm guessing at this point that only some type of grease cutter cleaner will remove the residue, which of course I'm not going to resort to... actually pulled out my T2's and realized how much I missed the warmer vape. These guys are going in a trash :/ I hear they've been discontinued too for the t3s.

rasmith1959, thanks... it seems to be not just on a coil, but post and the rest of the assembly. wasted too much juice trying to figure this out. giving up :p

The fakes I got came from a well respected US vendor, but when compared to "known good" heads, they were obviously lower quality.
The T3S and EVODs are the only clearos I use. You can buy a T3S base and coils and convert a T3 to T3S configuration. Lots of shops are doing just that. In fact, I got several T3S heads and bases from Mt Baker just last week. The Kanger products from Mt Baker are genuine Kanger.

I wish I seen this last week. I had a T3 with 4 coil heads, they all tasted horrible. I cleaned them, and cleaned them. dry burn? Yup, tried that too. This went on for days. Finally I got frustrated and tossed the whole lot. My T2's never gave me any problem, back to using them. Now I'm afraid to test the T3s, or any type s. I'm on the hunt, but so far nothing I get is as good as the T2.
