Is there a trick to cleaning the heads when using 100%vg? Ive rinsed them in hot water and its been fine with pg/vg mix, but with vg when i use a head thats been cleaned it tastes kinda like a dry burned wick. New heads are great taste good for quit awhile with a new one. Ive heard to dry burn, but tried and it burnt the wick. Any Thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanx

As soon as they start to give even a slightly burned taste I drop 'em in vodka overnight and let them dry the next day. Then I dry burn and use a small brush to gently remove the gunk. No problems.

Try dry burning in shorter bursts if your wick is burning. About 2 seconds is good and you can repeat multiple times as long as you let the coil cool off a bit.

You can't burn the wick in these things, assuming you are talking about the original wicking. More likely you haven't dry burned them enough and what you are experiencing is the taste of now dried on gunk still on the coil. The wicking material itself should return to a clean white color (for the most part) if it's thoroughly clean. If not, you are heating up burned on goo still left on the wick and/or coil.
