I think the OP is asking if you can
torch the coil (like, with a chef's torch) without removing it from the
rba. It's a good question, I've wondered that myself at times but wouldn't dare try it without getting confirmation that it is possible.
Are there plastic or other temperature sensitive components anywhere near the posts and coil? I know there's some sort of plastic or rubber gasket separating the +/- 510 connectors at the bottom, but I know I could avoid getting that area hot IF it was the only component at risk. I suspect there might be hidden dangers somewhere inside, though.
What does the inside of this thing look like, anyways? Anybody got pics?
