I am trying to wash all our clothes so the smoke smell can come out and it's going OK - what I'm having problems with is the towels... they still just reek!

What have you done to de-smokify your laundry and house? Any tips or tricks?
That is a good question, since I never smoked in my house, living here in Florida, you live out of doors mostly, hmmmm, hard enough getting the odor out of my car, hmmm short of getting new car. Let us know what you come up with.

When I first quit smoking I went on a real rampage. I had smoked in my house for 9 years and it smelled awful. I cleaned my carpets, washed walls and washed anything that wasn't nailed down. I emptied my closet and washed everything even the hangers. I also wore out my 6 year old washing machine and had to buy a new one. Also went thru 3 bottles of febreeze. It will be a long time till I break even with ecigs lol. I use downey and all my fabrics smell wonderful now.

What about the car? What has anyone used to clean the smell out of them, besides normal cleaning products, has anyone tried the hand tool for a carpet cleaner on the fabrics? I ask because we will SOON be non-smokers and I KNOW my car reeks of smoke - that is NOT gonna play well in trying to keep from lighting up another analog :(

Febreeze or Oust maybe? I'm wondering if something with a citrus-y smell will do the trick. I think I'm still going to take my carpet cleaner to the fabric in the car (should only take a few days with a crossover that seats 7-8 people lol) and then spray it w/ febreeze or oust and see how that goes. Will report back if anyone's interested, but will be awhile since we are still waiting on our kit to arrive - hopefully TODAY! :D

Spray the towels with white vinegar and let them sit for a few hours then wash. That should do it.

The car is more difficult. Vinegar can help (I sprayed my seats). Then I kept a bottle in the car and sprayed it down (including headliner) each time I got in. I sprayed Febreeze in the vents in the heater/A/C unit. That helped too.

If you need to clean walls in your house, Scrubbing Bubbles is the BEST at getting the goo and smell off the walls. Just wipe it off with old bath towels.

I bought arm and hammer oxy cleaning detergent and it seems to REALLY work well as far as my clothes, but I fear that I'm going to have to hire professionals to clean the house, 3 of us smoking for 2 years, pretty much non-stop since we were a multi-schedule house is pretty gross.

I may have to have the cars professionally done too :( I love simple green, but my DH has severe allergies to manyt hings, we'd have to see what happens.

To De-Smoke you car, head for the local Auto Parts Store and look for an Orange Based Deorderizer.

When you get it, park the car where the sun will shine on it all day, spray the Orange Stuff on the floors and under the seats. Lots of it. Spray a bit into the air but try not to cover the dash or seats with it. Close the car up tight and let it bake in the sun for the entire day and that night.

It will take 2 or 3 days for the orange smell to go away but the smoke will be gone.

It's amazing how you really notice the stench after you stop analogs. I never realized just how bad they funked up my house. I put on a shirt I hadn't worn in a while and the smell was making me crazy. Into the laundry it went. I need to do my carpets. the good news is I bought my new car after I started vaping so I never smoked in it.

Even before I quit smoking I could totally smell it in my car. Now that it's official and I am solely vaping, I went out today and cleaned/vacuumed it. One thing I found helpful was to put a couple of air purifiers in the cab (I have an SUV) and I'm hoping that it will continue to do so since I won't be smoking in there from here on out. However, one time while vaping a banana foster cartomizer, my daughter (who didn't know what the flavor was) said it smelled like burnt bananas... close actually. So, does vaping leave any new residual odors behind? It sure wouldn't be worse than smoking but was just wondering.

After you have cleaned out your car as best as you can, take a new votive candle and put it in your ashtray. Do not light it. It will eventually melt down and that will be what you smell every time you get in the car. To get it out of the ashtray simply remove the ashtray from your car and put it in the freezer for a couple of hours and the candle should pop right out.

If your car doesn't have an ashtray, use a small jar with holes poked in the lid to hold the candle and stick it under your seat.
