Cleaning the threaded end of a Kr808-d

I know its been asked before, but I cant find any real answers. So I'll ask here:

The wife and I both have the Vapor King, or some variation of it. After a while, inside the threaded end accumulates grime and stuff around the battery post. I cannot find anything thin and strong enough to stick between it to clear out gunk and debris.
Is there a method, or object that works to clean this area without damaging the battery? They draw very hard sometimes and I attribute that that dirt build-up. Thanks!

Try a dry toothbrush.

A bit of rubbing alcohol on a clean cloth will work nicely.

Yeah, I just use rubbing alcohol on a terry cloth myself. Works just fine!
