Cleaning triton batteries

I just happen to notice that I'm getting some gunk buildup in the batteries. Not a whole lot but it's a discoloration from the juice down deep where the battery screws in. How are you guys removing this? I'm trying alcohol and Q-tips but it doesn't seem to get down deep enough.

I use a Clorox clean up wipe with a flat pointed Floss pick then I wipe the outer threads and the entire surface of the battery.

I don't think just dipping it will clean it very well. And I certainly wouldn't risk it. With anything electronic, approach it with a damp cloth or paper towel. Maybe a better solvent is isopropyl alcohol. It will dry quicker. I get all of my gunk out of the moat with a damp (water) paper towel and the right sized drinking straw. I have cut a few notches in the end of the straw to give it a little bite.

The circuit board always has current running through it(albeit a very small amount). The "five click" only prevents it from firing.
