Hi Stucker :) From my experience darker juices tend to gunk up cartos and attys quicker than the clear juice. Im not sure if it's the color or sugars that tend to burn. (I also try to avoid vaping food coloring in general) Anyhow I make most of my own juice now, so I'm out of the juice loop.
I do know ALOT of vendors have colored juice (and they are not all bad) It's more of finding what works for you. You will find that some gunk up your Carto after a few mils and some don't, and if you really like the gunky juice stick with it.

I really do Like FSUSA their juice is usually very light and have a clean taste to them.

Good luck!

Thank you! I've been thinking about mixing my own juice but am still so confused over all the different cigs I figure I better get settled into that aspect first...eventually, I am sure I will mix juices...is there an area at ECF that teaches you how to do this?

You bet, they have a great DIY section here with tons of info. It really has saved me money in the long run as well as I feel better knowing what is going into my own juice. Also if you have a mobile device the app store has a fantastic ejuice calculator for free that has tons of recipes, disc out codes and other fun info. Good luck!!!!!

You pretty much just have to discover which are clear.

So far, the Vapor4Life WOW juices I have tried were clear.
WOWBacco (cocoa tobacco, and I assume WOWBoy which is the same + mint), WOW Vanilla, WOW Sour Cherry
And if you have a KR808D-1 or can get an adapter to 808 aka KR808D-1 for whatever you are using, you can try their carto sample packs to try many of the flavors and just look at the stuffing to see if it left residue.

I don't know about the juices the other KR8 only vendors sell (SmokelessImage, Bloogplanet)

FreedomsmokeUSA oRYental 4 (a sweet RY4) always seemed pretty clear, and Pomegranate is clear
And though I will not put 50/50 juices in cartos, I do drip Voodoo (clear) and Hopscotch which seem pretty clear

Gourmet Vapor vanillarum is pretty clear (and BTW SALE 50% off until Oct 14 / code vapetv). Note - if you use their Flavor Creator, I think the flavor state if they have colorings. Yes - I just checked - if you use the flavor creator (requires login) and start a new juice, and choose a flavoring for it, to the right it will list all ingredients of the flavoring. So you could play there during the sale - I just recommend everyone mark your own flavors private until you have tried them, and then if one comes out good you can go back and make it public.

Re DIY - same deal. In most cases, until you buy the flavoring you usually won't know if the flavoring is chock full of possibly particulate colorings/ingredients. I noticed HappyVaper in Canada does note on some DIY flavorings that they are dark so you could use that as one guide. Perfumer's Apprentice site - I think they list flavoring ingredients. Some of the ECF DIY Guide lists and linked lists note coloring ingredients.

Thanks dormouse! I do have the an 808 model and I get the blanks from SmokelessImage...and LOVE them! Is there a problem with 50/50 juices? The only juices I have tried are from Vapor4Life, KickBass and now SmokelessImage. The Kant Menthol is my favorite (sometimes I mix RedEnergy/RedBull in with it) and so far, it has all had a tint of gold/brown to it. Of course the RedBull is red, and the Watermelon that I got from SmokelessImage is red. I am going to check out Gourmet Vapor now...thanks for the info!

I use CE2 clearomizers on kr808 batteries. One raspberry juice I got from a favorite vender turned to black sludge in half a tankful. It looked kind of gross. CE2s probably make it worse because of the wicking action but I don't see how anyone could use this juice in regular cartos for more than one fill.

It was just a tiny sample bottle so no big loss and CE2s clean up easily. But for the berry juices I like I've turned to DIY. I can't taste much difference between various berry flavors from different venders. They all taste about the same as Loranne flavors. So now I just use clear loranne flavor and DIY juice. no more black sludge.

Tint is OK since even nicotine will usually tint juice with an amber color - residue is not.

And some colorings seem to have no residue. By clear I don't mean it has to be colorless, I mean crystal clear, no particles.

Like WOW Vanilla from Vapor4Life - it is definitely an amber color but seems to leave such minimal sediment it is close to none. It's fine. oRYental 4 and Hopscotch are also amber but pretty low sediment. But a similar color vanilla I had from elsewhere (2 vendors actually - 3 different vanillas) dropped a lot of sediment and were awful.

But there is no way I know of to tell in advance is a particular coloring or flavoring will have particles.

Re 50/50 - I just recently started trying Bloog cartos (same as SI) and the stuffing is looser than the Boge 510 or Vapor4Life (KR8) cartos. With the cartos I am used to, I can feel even 30% VG make the drag sluggish and after 4-5 days the carto stuffing will be cloggy and slow to take juice. I prefer to get a week or more use out of each carto (which is 2 weeks + for me since I alternate vaping 510 and KR8). But maybe the Bloog/SI carto looser stuffing and bottom coil would behave better with slightly thicker juices.

Once again, great info dormouse!!! I actually thought of you this weekend when I added a darker juice to an in use carto, simillar flavor, went to take a pull and it instantly was like sucking on an old wet sock!!!! YUK! Worked awesome just before that. Had to toss that carto (which I had been using for awhile, thankfully) but thought, "The mouse sure knows her stuff!" =) Needless to say I am now terrified of using that juice in another carto, may have to write drip only on the bottle.

I know where I buy my juices from you can request no food coloring in the liquids as thats what some use, I also know that the colors that are there are from the flavoring used only and tend to be a very light color if not clear all together. I can send you the info in a personal message if you like as Im new here and dont want to post anything that would cause issues. If your not comfortable with that I would simply request that liquids be made to your liking as I know the two companies I use (depending on what flavor I order)will do so without issue. hope that helps
