So, quick backstory: my ecigs were V2s before I knew anything about ecigs. Then I learned more about vaping (largely from this forum) and started ordering from V4L and refilling my own cartos. I have bought two XL autos from V4L and I love them, in fact I like them better than the two kr8 manuals I have. So far I've been happy with their batteries, cartos and juice, but I have been reading a lot about how great Bloog is and based off some reviews here I decided to give them a try. Specifically I have been hearing a lot about their Cartos and their new Maxx Fusion 72mm auto batteries. So the other day I decided to purchase some of their cartos and when I was there I said to myself, what the hell, it's only $20.00, let me try one of these auto-batteries everyone is raving about.

So when I got the cartomizers and battery from Bloog a few days ago I popped the battery in the charger and filled up one of the cartos. First let me say the cartos are amazing. I don't know if it really offers that much vaper over a standard V4l cartomizer, it does give more vapor, but not a ton more vaper. However, Bloogs are definitely superior in a number of ways. I was really suprised to see how much juice I could fit into a Bloog carto, I mean tons of juice compared to V4l cartos and no spilling out the bottom when filling them. With V4L cartos, no matter what I do, juice always seems to eventually start leaking out the threaded end, which gets messy trying to dab it all up, making sure more juice isn't going to go through the bottom, having to blow a bunch through the threaded end, etc. With the Bloog cartos I can put a good 20-25 drops in there and it never goes through the middle. Combined with the my XL V4L auto, the hits are amazing with great consistent vapor with never any burning taste. I think I just found my new choice combination of vaping.

However, that being said, the Bloog Maxx Fusion battery... reading the reviews I guess I thought it was going to perform way better than any kr8 I've ever tried. So I purchased the Maxx Fusion 72mm battery and charged it all the way up. My first impression was somewhere between "ok" and horrible. You have to suck on the damn thing hard to get a decent amount of vape. It's a little like trying to eat a Wendy's shake with a straw, sure if you suck hard enough you'll get some good stuff, but not really the right tool to get it done. I don't know, I guess I'm spoiled with the V4l batteries, it's not exactly analog, but you don't have to suck so hard to get vapor that your lungs hurt. With the Bloog battery I literally feel out of breath between hits, it's not an enjoyable experience at all and I wouldn't recommend it. So at the moment this battery is being shelved as a back-up, back-up battery. I compared it to some of my old V2 manual batteries, and the V2s manuals definitely have a much easier draw than the Bloog... with all this supposed great technology they put in the battery, you think they could have increased the airflow a little more. I'm half tempted to see if I can make the holes bigger on the bottom and see if that allows more air to flow through the battery.

So lesson learned I guess, beware of marketing hype. Bloog cartos are great, but the batteries are not worth it. If I were going to recommed anything to a person new to vaping it would be to get the batts from V4L (specifically the XL ones seem to preform like champs) and the cartos from Bloog, but steer clear of the batteries.

@Spaz, it looks awesome. I mean the design is great and it seems to hold it's charge better. Just messing around with both batteries this morning, I just blew the "ash cap" end of my V4L and air goes right through. With the Bloog it's like trying wrapping your lips around the pencil and blowing. I think I may try to widen the ash cap airflow ends of the battery today and see if that lets more airflow through. Such a weird design flaw...

Edit: oh, but the cartos are definitely worth every penny :)
