What I'd like to get my hands on is a Clearomizer that acts like a punched Boge in a carto tank acts for the first couple of days.

I have tried just about all of the clearomizer mutations and I really like them for convinece, but when I punch a couple of holes in a new Boge cartomizer and slip it into the old Liquinator tank, it gives Andy exactly what Andy wants. For about two or three days that is, then it sort of trails off to the same performance I get from the clearos for about a week or two. At some point, usually three weeks tops, the internal structure of the boge fails, and it goes into infinite flood mode.

Still two days of perfect plus two weeks of pretty good is not bad for the money if I buy the boges in bulk.

I run all this on a spinner, a Provari 1, or any of several Vamo type Chinese death-traps I have laying around, but the power source does not seem to make all that much difference running between ~4.8 and 5.1 v.

Is there a star-performer clearo tank yet?

You're talking about two different wicking systems, clearomizer vs cartomizer.

Clearomizers use 3-4 sting wicks to bring e-liquid to the heating coil. That's a small surface area of wick material around the coil.

Cartomizers use a big wad of polyfill fiber to wick e-liquid to the heating coil, and totally surrounds it. That's a much larger surface area. Therefore, more surface area = more juice = more flavor and vapor.

Not tried them yet, but the Innokin iClear30S uses the same 16 wicks as the original iClear30, but all of them are within a metal shaft much like a cartomizer's polyfill. I do use the original iClear 30 and it is my favorite clearomizer.

ever thought about something like a rebuildable carto for your tank?
Killer Atomizer (Killer 705 clone) by Rainbow

clearos are clearos, some are just prettier then others lol

I got one (dId clone?) that I could never get running without burning out the coil wire. I used a meter and the wire seemed like I had to wind twice as much as recommend to get the correct resistance, but even that would pop. I watched videos, read specs and still... sheeeee POP! That one looks pretty good for that price, but tell me, what are the advantages to rebuildibles? I mean, other than "rebuildablity." How long does a good "build" last? Can I get wick and wire at Lowe's or Radio-Shack or something? I just don't understand why I'd want to put myself through all that.

Thanks!

well the one i linked to is used in a carto tank so it is far from a did (or genesis style) atty. several people have used these to get over buying cartos all the time but keep the carto tanks in use.

as for the DID (genesis) out of all the rebuildables geni's have the highest learning curve and failure rate for someone just starting out so dont beat yourself up over that one lol. but they do have one of the best vape experiences when you finally master them.

but the advantage to rebuilding is tuning, in many cases the flavor and vapor is much better then any production device could hope for (there are low end top end etc just like anything else though).

you buy one device so the cost there is done. you can get enough wick and wire to last well over a year for 20-30 bucks, done.
then you can experiment with different build styles, want more throat hit? smoother vapor? how about thicker clouds full of flavor? or even end up lowering your nic?.

there not for everybody. usually i have wicks in my drippers last weeks and wicks in my genis run into months. in my case for example people say wow you paid 150 for an atty? yea but its over a year old now and still looks and works like new.

If you do it right, and if you buy a good one, and if you learn to tune it correctly. the experience is unmatched by any 5 dollar off the shelf device.

but therein lies the biggest setback, they dont all work the same contrary to what some believe, and it may come down to searching for what your wanting out of it, luckily in my case there is the classifieds here and when i dont like it I sell it for not much loss and chalk up the difference to a "rental" or "trial" fee.

I have gone through dozens of rebuildables to find the 3 i use now, others find one right away, yet still some will never enjoy them.

in any case it was just an idea, the killer is a pretty neat atty. while I dont try to convince everyone to rebuild, if your good with your hands and like to experiment i do like to at least present the option.

if you're not good at rebuilding gennys, you are gonna have a really bad time with a killer. They are definitely tricky to set up your first few times. I would recommend the diver, but even that can be tricky and sometimes floods. Try Ikenvape cartos if you dont like rebuilding - they are way better the boges
