Hi! I started vaping about a few months ago on a Joye 510T system. I had a lot of fun trying new flavors but overall it was missing something to make me stop smoking completely. Then a friend of my husband's sent me one of the new clearomizers and suddenly I didn't want a real cigarette anymore.

I want to order some more but there seem to be so many choices out there. I understand the difference between the long wick and short wick but what about the ohms? Do I want a higher or lower? I'm still using the batteries that came with the 510T starter kit but mine aren't holding a charge very long. If I want to use the clearomizers exclusively, should I get more 510 batteries or maybe move up to an EGO battery? If the ego battery which one do I choose? The C or the T, and will they work on my 510 charger or will I need a new one?

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I was getting really overwhelmed with all of the choices out there and I really don't want to go back to cigarettes.

The ego battery is the same "power" as the 510 - both 3.3ish volts regulated. I think you will find that a Kgo is both higher in power (goes from 4.2v to 3.3v as you use it unregulated aka a "3.7v" battery) and quite likely cheaper than an ego. There is literally no other difference between an ego and Kgo other than how the battery is regulated or not.

As for ohms/resistance, I find that 2.4ohms range is fine for the clearomisers. Because they're top coil, they are "hotter" than other heating devices as the vapour does not have as far to go. Low resistance i.e. 2 ohms or so range seems to be too hot with a clearomiser to me and just kills flavour with it being so close to your mouth. Taste is subjective so you might not find that.

I would avoid Ego C and T batteries as they are simply ego batteries that are just nenamed and sold with poorly functioning tank systems. A normal stock ego battery with a charger will be a lot cheaper, unless of course you source the cheaper Kgo aka riva which is much more reccommended than the ego ever was. Since you already have the heating elements, only buying the batteries and charger will be a lot cheaper for you.

On a side note, I would get the ego TWIST batteries right now as they're variable voltage but are still a decent size. You can't go wrong with them and it means you have to rely on resistance (ohms) of heating elements less as you can change the power yourself :)

You want to use a resistance between 2.4-2.8. The difference in wicks is just that, short or long. The shorter wicks are up on top near the atomizer. Every few puffs you have to tilt your gear to keep the wick wet. The longer wicks extend all the way to the bottom of the tank. Most of the companies are switching to the longer wicks.

Don't waste your money buying the frustration of an eGo-C or, especially, an eGo-T. All you have to do is read this section a little and you'll see that they're a pain, leaky, finiky and most people ditch the tanks in favor of the Clearomizers.

If you took all the junk off the end of the eGo-C or T, you'd be left with an underpowered kGo that you overpaid for.

If you like the size and style of the eGo's, save yourself the trouble and get a kGo in the first place.

If you have a backup to use while it's charging, and you don't mind that it is way bigger than any other e-cig with the same run time between charges, you might like the Twist. Just make sure you have something else to use while it's charging. You dn't want to charge it overnight. Oh, and if you don't have the vision of an eagle, forget about being able to read the numbers on the bottom. You'll just have to set it by "feel" or "taste".

If you want to get into variable vaping for about $50, you can try an Ovale V8 from discountvaping.com or a Lavatube from apolloecigs.com. The 30% off discount code for the Lavatube (Vtube) is "Vtube30".

Both of those are NOT disposable like the Twist so you don't throw them away when the battery dies. You don't have to use something else while they're charging. They have a digital display to let you choose your voltage without a microscope and they don't have a skimpy 1.6 volts of adjustment. Instead, they let you choose from 3 to 6 volts. And, they last more than 4 hours without being the size of a police baton. They'll both work fine with the clearomizers you like.
The Vtube has free shipping and a one year warrant. When a Twist is dead, the Vtube will still be under warranty.
