Clearomizer not producing smoke after clean and dry burn

Watched a few videos on cleaning clearomizers and thought i would give it a go. I had been mixing flavours in one of my tanks and couldnt get a fresh taste out of it.

Soaked it in warm water for 15 minutes. Then filled it half way and shook several times that seemed to clean the wicks well. Left it for 10 minutes gave it an extra few shakes and blew through the middle to clear out the excess liquid. Then started to dry burn it. Did it for about 15 minutes in total but couldnt see the coil turning orange. Also there was no smoke coming out like in the videos i have seen of cleaning. So to play it safe i stopped dry burning it and left it for another 15 minutes most of the condensation had gone and it looked pretty dry so stuck a ml of liquid in it. Gave it 5 minutes to soak into the wicks and then tried vaping off it. The coil is heating up as i can hear it burning something but im getting no vapor at all.

Have i not left it dry for long enough. Should i rinse it out again and leave it overnight instead ? Or have i broke it ? :p

Cheers,
JP

You definitely didn't leave it to dry for long enough - especially considering you washed it in water (as opposed to Vodka or PGA, which dries much quicker). There's a good chance you'll have ruined the coil, but there's no harm in giving it another rinse and leaving it to dry for 24 hours before trying again. Have you got a multimeter lying around so you can test it?

Just to be clear, though - you should never attempt to dry burn anything for that long. I know you said you've already watched a couple of videos on the subject, but here's a really good one:

Left it for another wee while there and gave it another couple of hits. Each hit i take it produces a bit more vapor so im thinking its still working just a bit damp still. Should be grand if i leave it or a bit. Still the reason i cleaned a dry burned was to get rid of the taste of sex on the beach and i can still taste it :p Do some flavours just linger forever or should i try to clean again.

Also can you always see the coil glow ? Because i still cannot, still thinking i might not have dry burned it for long enough :S

Watched that video but its a completly different model. With mine i take off the drip tip i think thats what its called :p.... (Mouthpiece) and then look down the center tube and watch for the coils glowing.

Some flavours you can't ever get rid of. Try soaking for a couple of hours in vodka - that usually does a much better job of getting rid of stubborn flavours than water alone.

Yes - you should see the coil glow when you're doing a dry burn. In your case it's probably not glowing because it's still too wet. Stop trying to use the darn thing until it's dry! If you can't get the coil to glow a dry burn isn't going to be effective anyways.

Doesn't matter - the principal is still the same.

Keep hitting it with short primer puffs waiting a few secs. inbetween, it'll come around.
ie. Hold the fire button down, draw 4 or 5 short puffs, relax, do it again.(don't inhale)
Make sure the juice is at the top of the wicks.

I never let mine sit long enough to dry on it's own.
You guys sure are a patient bunch.lol.

I was just about to post this. LOL!

dry it off/out as best as you can, then fill and assemble and suck, suck, suck!

Wait, that doesn't sound right....

It does work though. :)

Right on Hitme! I rarely leave mine dry long, I just put the next liquid in and vape away! I think you didn't dry burn it long enough...sometimes it takes awhile, and you should see the red glow when it gets itself clean. Just make sure only to do short bursts at a time.

Take the head out and squeeze the wicks dry with a paper towel. Also dab dry anything you can reach that is wet. Shake or blow out the rest. The coil should light up and dry burn then.

What is your voltage and resistance? Perhaps you don't have enough oomph to get rid of all the water. I would also check the atomizer head resistance while it is out, if you can, as it may be partially burnt out or something.
