ok so as you may know, im new:) I started a few years back with 510s and didn't really enjoy them. Well, I waited a few years and found the Boge Lea, I liked it but still didn't do what I needed to get me away from analogs. well, a few weeks ago I bought a Boge Leo with tanks. I absolutely love it, it gives a great throat hit and it tastes great with the chocolate mint that im using, well im away from analogs and I decided that I also wanted to try a different style ecig so I bought the new ego mini setup with the clearomizers. ok, so first question, my Leo makes awesome flavor and smoke and throat hit, but the ego seems weak, real weak, very little smoke, not much throat hit and not much flavor and im using the same liquid. now my GF is using the second ego that came with the kit and she is using 2 year old 0 nicotine snickerdoodle juice and its amazing..... what am I doing wrong? hahah a newb question im sure but I just don't know what the hecks up with it or me...

yep they are the CE4 clearos which like I said my Girlfriend gets awesome taste and smoke from hers but mine with the same juice as my LEO doesn't taste, smoke or throat hit anything like the Leo so I guess maybe different voltage is the answer I am looking for the adaptor for the ego to leo so I can run a clearo on my leo battery and see what happens.

The Ego mini might be 3.3V output, and the CE4s are normally 2.4 ohm or higher.

That would mean that the vape is about 4.5 watts or lower. That my not be enough heat for the liquid that you are using.

On the other hand, the Leo output voltage is 3.7 volts: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...133405-boge-technologies-leo-full-review.html

The Boge LR atomiser is 2.2 ohm: SALE - Boge Leo Atomizer Low Resistance 2.2ohm Black - Bozecig Electronic Cigarettes
and this will give a vape power of 6.2 watts, enough to make quite a difference.

You could look for some CE4 clearos of about 1.8 ohms which will give you a better result, or switch to something with replaceable heads that you can get 1.8 ohm heads for, such as the Evod or TS3, both of which will give a superior vape in my opinion.

You might also consider a variable voltage battery such as the Joye Ego Twist or the Vision Spinner. They are essentially the same as the Ego mini batteries but bigger, larger capacity, and you can dial in the voltage that suits you. The iTaste VV V3 might also be worth a look. All three of these can use the CE4, Evod, TS3 etc devices. The iTaste is also available battery only but you might have to search around for it. The Twists and Spinners are also available in a range of sizes/capacities.

hmmm...I'm wondering if this (new replaceable coil & wick clearomizer with 2.4ohm wick on my 650mAh iGo n300) is the reason why this juice tastes like a dry hit or burnt? I have a replacement 1.8ohm wick (or is it the coil that is measured in ohms?) that I'll try replacing tonight. I have 2 other stock clearomizers (no user replaceable parts) that work fine and taste great but i wanted something i didn't have to repurchase every couple of weeks and make more waste of old parts. good info in here guys!

Is this the VV revolver, or the fixed voltage? You need to find out what voltage it is putting out if so. It's possible that your question equates to the same as the OP's

In any case, going to a coils with lower resistance (ohms) would not solve a burning problem in this case.

I think you are talking about the top coil devices from Nhaler? The problem with most top coil devices is that they don't wick very efficiently, so you have to tip them upside (the old tilt and twirl) between puffs to make sure the wick stays very wet.

There are other problems with top coil devices that can contribute to the wicking problems, and you could google for possible fixes as there's plenty of stuff out there. Look for videos and tutorials on the CE5 which that Nhaler devices seems to be modeled on.

Briefly though: Problem/solution

Slow wicking/notch the top cap
Still slow wicking/take the flavour wick out
Tastes burnt/bad/no vapour but it's not a wicking problem/Badly wrapped coil - replace it.
Still tasting burnt - the wick is just not working because it's the wrong quality for the application, or all the coils are wrapped to tight on the wick so it can't work.

I've moved completely to bottom coil clearomisers like the Protank, T3S, and Evod because of these wicking problems. Bottom coil devices have a completely different set of problems and solutions of their own, but I find the ones mentioned work well out of the box. YMMV.

btw, could PG vs VG have anything to do with it? I'm noticing this juice is mighty thick. That's usually a sign of VG isn't it?

VG is a lot thicker than PG, yes. Thick juices can wick slower, especially on top coil devices. Try adding a few drops of water to thin it a bit, an put it in a warm place. If it starts off OK and then dry hits when you chain vape, this might indicate a wicking problem.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the VG. Now to study up on the cleaning process and try with a flavor I know tastes good in my older disposable clearomizers.

Let me just thank you all for helping me out. I've been "vaping" (i dont know why i dont like that term its just that smoking cigarettes wasn't a lifestyle so why would using ecigarettes be?) for almost a year but have been using the cig-a-likes up until about 2 months ago. Its so hard to find what a person likes because this is all still based on personal preference. Trial and error. But I see know why people get so serious with this. If I'm going to be addicted to nicotine I might as well enjoy it right?! I dont drink crap whiskey so why would I not want a quality vape?
