I just returned to vaping, after 2 yrs away. I discovered clearomizers and thought they sounded like a better idea than the regular carts I was using. I ordered 3 and got them 3 days ago. The first one was AWESOME!! Great draw, lots of vapor, good taste. I wanted to try a lighter flavor than the mint chocolate chip I had been vaping, so I filled one clearomizer with DIY Flavorshack Tangerine. In less than 6 hrs, the base of the clearomizer was cracked all the way around!!!
So, I wrote to my vendor and asked for a replacement. Hm...he said no, only if it came to me defective. :glare: That was my first time using that vendor...and my last. Of course I don't blame him for the cracking, but I think a courtesy could have been extended. Maybe it would be effective to put a warning in the packing envelope that certain types of liquid will crack the clearomizer housing.
BTW, these are eGo Vision 2.1-2.4 ohm, 510 short wicks. Have any non-cracking tanks been made? I don't usually use Tangerine or cinnamon, but I would like to buy and use these with confidence.

if you would like to stay with the CE2 version then try the deluxe/ultimate CE2's as they are made of a much stronger plastic. I have yet to have one of those crack.

In my opinion the best ones going these days is the CE4+ (visions/stardust). V1 has the short wicks and v2 has 8 long wicks. I havent heard of or had any of the issues that are found in the older CE2's. They are a breeze to fill and clean.

Clearomizers are consumable products with a variable lifespan and as such they are only covered for DOA (dead on arrival). I always poke a hole through the cello and do a continuity check with an ohm meter when I receive them, especially if I receive a large quantity of them. Most vendor sites have a disclaimer that they only cover DOA clearos and carts.

High acid juices will damage polycarbonate plastic. Some of the newer V3 Vision eGo clearos have a different plastic. It would be wonderful if we could get more info about the materials they are made of. Maybe it will improve in this direction in the future.

The vendor you dealt with was not acting any different from the majority of vendors. Sorry his stance upset you.

I love the clearomizers and have had 6 so far and one that has cracked. While using tangerine juice. Most of the vendors put a notice on their site about the possibility of problems with high acid fruits, cinnamon, etc. I am surprised that your vendor did not have such a message. They certainly should. These clearomizers are great IMO. They provide ease of use and the best taste I have ever had with vaping. They are expensive, so look around for sales and I wish they lasted longer, hence the reason I don't use them exclusively. I believe and most everyone agrees that since they are so new, they will only get better, so if you want to hang out and wait for a couple months, you would probably have better luck. I am just impatient. I HATE TO WAIT! LOL

Happy Vaping

Well, yeah, I hate to wait, too. It would be nice to just run to the store to get stuff and not have to depend on the mail. I will be ordering more, from my regular vendor...if they are in stock. Every vendor has their own names for these things, which makes it extra hard to order newer versions. Guess I'll do some looking around. Anyone know how long Health Cabin orders take to get to GA?

Cinnamon and tangerine will crack just about everything. I've even had it crack polycarbonate tanks. My only suggestion is to get a phiniac tank. Click on the link in my banner. Made of pyrex, these tanks can withstand any juice and tons of abuse. You will need to get boge or smoktech cartomizers. Since you're using an eGo, I recommend 2ohm.

Yeah, I'm having mixed feelings right now about clearomizers. I have two that are leaking onto the battery. not much but juice is definitely there. I'm new to clearomizers, though, so I may be using it wrong as the wick is on top and I tip it upside down sometimes to wet it. I'm only using watermelon and mint so far.

Jshamm, you should not turn them upside down to wet them. Just roll them around with your fingers until you see that they are wet. This is one thing that has aggravated a lot of us and many of the vendors are now getting them with the longer wicks so they will be easier to use. I am anxious to try them.

Thanks for the tip. I'd imagine that's why I'm finding some juice on the terminal then?

The one an only time I ordered from Health Cabin, delivery took 3 weeks with the standard shipping method to Florida. For orders originating in the U.S., I would recommend finding a good price from an U.S. vendor for speedy delivery. For example, Discount Vapers has latest versions of the Stardusts (CE4+) with both the short and long wicks in different resistances. They list the latest version of the short wicks as the V1 and the new long wick version as V2, but these are actually the V2 and V3 versions shown on the Vision Cigar (manufacturer) site. I still wouldn't recommend using cinnamon or strong citrus juice in any polymer tanks though.

Cartomizers - DiscountVapers.com

They also have the new rebuildable CE5+ (not Vision), the new CE6, and the E1 Revive clearomizers, none of which I have tried yet. I've been using the LR V3 Vision Stardusts for about a week now on my eGo batteries and they've been working great.

I dont even really use tangerine...it was in a sampler. I usually vape Dulce leche or mint chocolate chip...no probs with either. However, if I want to go rogue...lol...and try something new, I don't want to have to worry about the tank cracking. I am going to try the longer wicks someday, too. But for now, just looking for better plastic....

I get that too, that bit of puddling in the cup of the eGo connection when using the Stardust. Most of that is condensation and there should only be a little bit if you fill it correctly. If you fill it up to (or past) where the wicks meet the inner tube, you'll get a flooding situation resulting in more juice in the connector and possibly stiffer draw and poor power connectivity. I've only had one so far that flood the connector constantly, but that was after 2 weeks of use and several cleanings, so I figured it was just ready to retire it.

My head was spinning after checking out this site! I never saw so many combinations of Star Dusts before.

My experience and observations on the Star Dust may not be useful or the same as others but here goes.

I got condensation on the connector when I would take multiple puffs without the tip leaving my lips. Obviously, to me, water was not coming from the juice, it was from my breath. It went away when I moved the tip away from my mouth after each puff.

Several people have tried drilling holes at the skirt to get an easier draw. I even saw a site that sold them with holes in the skirt. I have found that the hard draw happens when there is a vacuum in the tank. I remove or loosen the tip to allow some air in the tank. This doesn't allow much air in so I now remove the silicone O-ring from the tip of the ones that I use at home (will always be upright). If I get an occasional stiff draw, I loosen the tip a 1/4 turn. This seems to produce much more vapor.

Not sure if this will help anyone else. I just thought I would pass it along.
