Its been a while since ive posted on here... been vaping a few of months now and ive hit a stumbling block.
The last two orders I have used clearomizers because:
1.I like the look
2.You spend less time filling up
3.I actually liked the flavour it produced and smoke.

BUT the first batch I got was quite good, 5 smokey clearomizers from totally e-wicked (great site). Smoke and flavour was really good but lasted me only a month and yes that is all five. I know these dont last forever but these I found are not sturdy enough at all as the metal (screw on part) does not hold it self well to the plastic tubing.
The second batch I received are not good at all! all 5 have lasted barely TWO WEEKS! and this is due to the weak design and the fact that I can taste the burning of the flavour! I know that once it is filled for the first time you need to let it sit for a short while while the strings ( dont know the proper term) soak up the juice, I have left all of them to sit once filled for more than a day but still they just burn the juice more than twice the usual time!

Now to the point, am I doing something wrong here from what ive said? or should I just steer clear of clearomisers altogether? I have tried cartomisers but I dont know if its just me but I get this weird smell as I take it in.

I typically use a genesis 510 auto (280mah i believe) battery and the clearomisers are 2.4-2.6Ohm. Is there any other alternatives I could use that keeps the flavour, smoke generation and throat hit (could be better... just a little) BUT does not need to be filled up so quickly?

Lastly do you think the clearomisers that I received were faulty and should I look to get any replacements from totally wicked? If so, has anyone dealt with them on issues like this?
Sorry for the long lecture but I look forward to any response!

If you want something that works out of the box as designed then I'd stay steer clear of the Clearos. If you want to mod and tweak them with regular cleaning they can last indefinitely and preform great.

I replace the factory tubes with a cut BD Syringe tube then widen the openings in the silicone gasket and they are my favorite longest lasting carto by far but without the tweaking they are hit or miss as you've described.

If you want something that works out of the box try the Boge or Dual Cores. They are easy to fill and just work.

It's the wick

I bought a 5 pack of clearos from TW and quickly got rid of them. Theyre to inconsistent in flavor and vapor production. To the best of my knowledge, it's because it isn't "wicking" properly, that is the juice isn't running up the wick to the coil and you start to burn wick. One of the metal parts that screw into the battery broke off on mine and I had a full clearo worth of juice leak onto my shirt shorts and floor, kinda pisses me off lol. I drip now, I feel like I have more control over my flavor.

Hi Mudal,

Clearomizers & other cartomizers are meant to be disposable so a month from 5 of them is good going :)

I've been using Dual coil cartos recently (prefer the stainless to the clear ones). They each last anything from 4 days to a week or more before they start to wimp out, but at only £8.49 for 5, I don't mind if they only last a couple of days - fantastic amount of vapour, flavour & throat hit. I get mine from Vape escape -

Dual Coil (5 Pack) Clear £8.49 - Vaping Spares - Cartomisers Vaping Devices | E-cigarettes | Accessories | E-Liquid

However, as they are low resistance, your 280mAh batteries are sadly not going to cope with them :(

Where I usually am
I have a ton of clearomizers that I had to mod because of the crappy tube. If you don't mind fiddling with them, they work great.
BUT!.......now that the dual cartomizers are out, there all I use. "Fill and go" no fiddeling with them, they hold as much as a clearomizer and never leak. More liquid, flavor and vapor. Isn't that what were all looking for?

hmmm the cartos i bought are dual coil (tested them with the riva 510 battery) and unfortunately for me are crap for flavour... thing is I still smoke shisha (hookah) and I compare them for flavour... I know its two different methods altogether but still haha...

G-dub... I feel your pain, it happened to me on the way to work on the bus and it wasnt nice doing a shift with the sticky feeling against my shirt....

And nomoreash you must have alot of patience to be modding on a regular basis! not to mention the many more digits on the IQ!

I think everything is veering to dripping...

It's really no big deal, takes about 2 minutes per carto and I'm done. Cut a syringe tube to length, cut the notches in the gasket a little wider so the wick doesn't get in a bind, replace the tube and I'm done.

The syringe tube and gasket can be used over and over again also so I'm not re inventing the wheel each time.

Hi.. I still use Clearos occasionally, even though I have a Genesis atty, but when you need something less bulky that fits in suit pocket - i use Clearos. And the ones I got from Healthcabin work best. Much better than iVapour or TW. These Edition5 seem to have improved the wicking and the tubes don't seem to break that fast. Of course, having broken dozens of clearos, I have a much gentler approach now :) But still, one lasts me 2-3 weeks, with washing and dryburning every 5-7 days.

My opinion I have a lot of cracking issues and I don't much care about seeing how much liquid I have left I can tell when a carto gets low. That said the clearos give a nicer cleaner taste....verdict?

Get the CE2 revision 5 non clear... don't crack so far no leaks, lasting me longer than any carto I've tried so far and a nice clean vape. I don't know who all carries them but I do know Nhaler does.

If you make another purchase, take the silicone cup ring out and clip the wick openings in it a little bigger. This will allow juice to flow quicker. I used to the ce2's but got tired of fiddling with them. If the tubes give out, cut some 3ml BD brand syringe tubes to fit. Only BD tubes will work. Alcohol will removed the markings from the tubes.
