Hi, i am new to the world of vaping, I have been a 30+ a day smoker for the last 20 years, i purchased a vea starter pack 3 weeks ago, i have gone from normal carto's to re-fillable clearomiser's. I have now got to only smoking one or two analogues a day so thats good.

A few questions for members.
I seem after a day or two to completely go off whatever flavour i am using, is this normal or just me?
Can clearomisers be washed out and new flavours put in them?
I have also found after 3 days the clearomiser seems to lose the amount of vapour it was originally producing, is there anything i can do to help with this?
I know these are probably silly questions but i really want to kick my stinking habit once and for all.
All help gratefully received

Moving on to other flavors is normal. That's what I have been doing. The e-liquid I bought to go with the kit was good but once I tried some locally made liquids I really don't care all that much for the "stock" flavor. I will use it up as I don't want to waste the money.

There are no silly questions. All of your questions can be answered but you may want to search around, a daunting task.

I use water with my vivi novas all the time. I rinse them well and dry them well, make sure you dry the wicks good but becarefull not to pull on them. Just pinch them gently with a paper towel untill there is no moisture left on the towel. Then I put it all back together clean and dry, fill with liquid and put a drop or two directly on to the coil of possible and then blow it out. It might take a few toots before it works whatever water was on the wick out then you should be good to go. I used to change flavors daily and never had a problem.

You won't find one answer for that last question. There are thousands of options and millions of combinations.

A popular choice or recommendation for beginners would be an eGo type battery and clearomizer assembly. I'm new to vaping myself and haven't tried too many options but so far I swear by Volcano products (I am not a paid endorser), which actually seem to be barely mentioned through this forum. However, they don't offer a clearomizer tank I don't think.

Anyway, eGo-clearomizer combos are inexpensive, easily customizable with thousands of options, and are very user friendly. Perhaps more experienced members can better advise you about any particular brands and parts and juices.

Hi all.
I am now in to day 4 with no analogues, (i am so proud, first time in 26 years)
I am still craving a normal analogue.
Did other members find this as well?

I am also starting to really enjoy vaping, i found it hard at first as i have my own business and my staff are all non smokers so they gave me a bit of stick when i first started vaping. After 26 years of smoking i am so pleased to have made 4 days without,
Does the interest/cravings for a normal smoke go away? Again im asking loads of questions lol.

You should be proud.

Personally for me it is getting easier every day to not want an analog. For me developing new patterns, made it easier to not crave analogs. For example - I no longer get the paper in the morning with a smoke, instead I empty the dishwasher and let the wife get the paper. Little things like that have helped me along the way.

Hi lee, congrats on ceasing with analogs! I switched after 6 years and it was hard enough, cant imagine how it is after 26 years

From what i gathered, the craving for analog is because you are craving other chemicals found in an analog other than just nicotine. Also the taste is hard to forget as well. I have read that to ease the craving for other chemicals you can try chewing tobbaco in very small amount.

As for devices, heres my two cents: it depends on how much money you are willing to spend, as well as how much time.

Here is my Mid-level set up: eGo C Twist 1000mAh, Vivi Nova with a pack of replacement heads. The entire thing is around $50, dirt cheap and lasts forever. Both the vivi nova and the twist battery are no-brainers to use, cleaning and refilling the nova cannot be any easier.
The quality on both are very good, the nova gives you an excellent vape with lots of flavor.

For my first kit i got the 510 Tank, it was pretty nice, easy enough to clean and refill, and looks like an analog cig. But after 2 weeks i hardly used them any more. Just something to think about since i would imagine a kit like that might appeal to a recent analog smoker

I started initially using both. It lasted only a week before I completely quit analogs. The last few days I would light up a cig but found I was putting it out after only several drags. I was comparing between the two. The analogs became too harsh. It has been 23 days since my last cig with no desire for another.

It has also been easier while driving since I don't have to fumble around with a lit cigarette in hand. I can drop it in my pocket or lay on the car seat when the needs arise.

I started with 18mg nicotine and still prefer that for now. 12mg is not bad but I do notice a lesser throat hit, TH. Each person's needs will vary on nicotine strength. I say whatever it takes is what you should do and you can do it.

True that. I remember BIND when I switched from Marlboro's to Camels and I had some withdrawals.

In a van ............down by the river
Welcome and congratulations.

Clearos can definitely be washed out, even the "disposable" ones.
If you're handy, take a paper clip, straightened out, and go through the little metal cap that sits in the silicone cap and wiggle it off the post.
Of course, I'm talking about after removing the screw on drip tip.
Do not go in too far, the heating coil is right there, which you'll see after you get the silicone cap out.
It's a tight fit, but it will come out.

Once that is out, you can see the coil that wraps around the wick.
Wander off to the sink and turn on the hot water.
Run water into it, shake it up, pour it out, repeat, repeat, repeat.
Blow water through it from both ends.

Be careful if the water is really hot, don't burn yourself.

Once it looks clean, shake it out, vigorously.
Try to get as much of the water out as you can.

There are different opinions on what to do next.
Some people like to let them sit overnight and dry out, but I'm not one of those people, I'm impatient sometimes.

I do a dry burn on it, which consists of putting it on the battery and firing it in short bursts.
Keep in mind that the drip tip and silicone/metal washer/spacer are still NOT installed.
Press the power button, but for just a few seconds.
You'll see vapor, or smoke, if you will, coming out.
Blow through it.
Fire again, keep doing shorts bursts until the vapor stops producing.
After all the crap gets burned off, you will hopefully see the coil starting to glow.
Don't over do it here, but try to burn all the residue off without burning up your coil.
Don't worry about the silica wicks, they will not burn.

Some people like to rinse again after this to remove anything that was created by the dry burn, but I just blow them out.
Put the silicone/metal cap back in...fill up, attach the drip tip, and vape on.

If you have cotton wicks, which you most likely don't, don't dry burn those.
Silica is shiny, and will not burn.

When you do the dry burn...smell the "smoke" coming out, if you've ever had a dry hit or noticed a slight burning taste to your hits, now you'll know exactly where it's coming from.
Built up residue on the coil and wick.

Rinsing and burning that out results in an almost new clearo.

At least, that's my experience.

Of course, YMMV

Could any members give me advice to what is the most reliable e-cig on the market, i think im just having teething problems and i am trying to find something that will perform really well at all times. Many thanks

Shout out to Ipswitch - my wife is from there.

I have yet to have any issues with the eGo T's. Those are pretty choice setups and not expensive.
