I am some what new to vaping, and a few weeks ago I finally got the high end mech mods in the mail. All of my experience the last two months points me to one conclusion... the genuine article is vastly superior to clones, period.

I have been tickering around with a very large assortment of authentics and clones. Pretty much every single clone has caused me some trouble one way or another. The few that didnt are working but just plain feel cheap and I can tell they wont hold up well. All the authentic stuff like a GGTS, Just GG, Ithaka, oddy, cobra atty, and many others are just simply perfect. IMO if you are new to vaping, buy once, buy quality. It will last you forever and be worth it in the end. Plus the quality of your vape will indeed be better.

One exception to the rule: really good clones like hcigar. BUT, they are pricy in their own-right, and if you save your money a bit longer a authentic mod/atty really isnt going to cost you much more. Also, a authentic item will hold its value and you can always sell it in the future.

Buying cheap is expensive. I don't have experience with clones, but one has to realize that to come up with the same item at a lower price, they had to cut somewhere and 99% of the time that cut is in the quality. You can still get something for cheap and it will last you, but I say buy at least one good mod to start with. Worst case scenario, it will be a reliable backup.

All true.

One reason you see a lot of "Nemesis clone" is that the original builder of the Nemesis built an item that people like. When you buy a Nemesis you have an idea of where it starts. When you add clone you know that the builder has no reputation and when it comes to quality they don't care.

Then there is the Hcigar Nemesis clone, or tebco or some other name, and you know what you are getting. The design of a Nemesis from a company that has a reputation. The reputation is not for excellence but good value for the money. If they start producing crap their sales will drop.

A nice thing, as far as I am concerned, I have seen from China is that some clones are just clones of the design. They do not include the original logo or other engraving. I have also seen designs from China that are as original as those from other places in the world. They have a chip that will handle 30 watts and it uses tilt as opposed to buttons and I think the mods without multiple buttons look better.

It is a great time to be vaping when then there are so many new things. I want to buy them all ;-}

I have a couple of Kayfun clones and some are ok but quality compared to the original is noticeable. I also have Ehpro clones of the Kayfun lite plus and I actually like them a lot and almost as good as the originals. I would buy a lot more authentic devices over clones if the companies could actually produce and keep suppliers in stock.

Another reason I would use a ehpro kayfun over the original more often is the price and availability to replace. I do a lot of physical activity during the day. If I drop my $35 clone off a roof while working or in the lake when having some fun, I am not going to cry over it. The authentic devices stay at home and look pretty for the most part. And performance wise, I see no difference.

I say buy the real thing if you can. Many items just can't be had, hence the market for clones. I think genuine products which are available from their original designers should be patronized though. Kayfun from SvoeMesto and Nemesis from Atomixani however ARE readily available so buying those clones is just about buying a knockoff to save $. I understand people want to save $ and fast tech/alibaba/whatever offers clones that are way way cheaper, but there are macro benefits to buying the real deal that people, i'm sure, can already understand.

Yes, you live and learn. Also you can outgrow the cheaper gear you started with. But I'd always recommend authentic eGo batteries - and indeed ALL batteries before saving a buck and losing everything else in a fire. I haven't had experience with the Russian, but the HCigar Kayfun is a nice bit of stellar engineering.

LOL - you must have been thinking on the same lines, I just responded to another post about the same thing.

PS _ retic had to nearly fly over and beat me with a 2 x 4 to get me to actually set it up after it sat collecting dust on my coffee table for ages. But I do love it now, bless him.

I have an original Kayfun lite! after nearly losing it on a night out I wanted something cheaper to take out with me, so I thought I would give the Hcigar clone a go.

I disliked it straight away, the finish was rubbish and so was the build, after spending hours trying to get it to fire with no success I decided It was completely duff, sent it back and got a refund and ordered another original.

I too grabbed a EHPro Kayfun lite plus v2 clone and think it's pretty freaking amazing. But I don't have anything authentic to compare it to.

If I do this long term, eventually I will grab some expensive authentic stuff.... Seems like new stuff comes out by the day lol.

I do, and besides a slight, and I do mean very slight difference in build quality, there is no difference between the Ehpro Kayfuns and the original Svoe I own. You would never be able to tell the difference vaping them.

Yeah, batteries is one place you don't want to skimp, especially with mechs. With batteries you get what you pay for and saving a buck could lead to an ER visit if your not careful.
