Close encounter

I had a close encounter of the Bald Eagle kind yesterday on Samish Island! This magnificent bird let me walk right up to the base of the power pole he was on and then he let me stand there and take his portraits for about 15 minutes.

After I got a chance to review the photos I took of him I noticed his eye was different. I'm not sure if there is something wrong with it, or if that is his eyelid. Maybe someone here can tell us.

Very nice. Crisp colorful picture! You must have a great camera.

It kind of reminds me of a dinosaur. Probably from watching that program awhile ago about some dinos being more like chickens than lizards.

I saw one yesterday morning as well. It's not all that rare around here (I'm relatively close to Yellowstone), but it's certainly not an every day sighting. It had slipped my mind until I saw this. Thanks!

Thank you everyone! Here where I live we get the chance to see all kinds of Bald Eagles. One day my wife and I went out on a photo shoot and we had the luck to see, photograph and count 500 Bald Eagles and Golden Eagles. It was a rare treat to see so many. On One tree we counted 36 Eagles!

I'm Lucky enough to own some Great cameras and professional lenses, so I use them to the fullest all of the time.
