So, today was fun. (End of story -- all is well.) We woke up and Annabella was acting weird. It always takes her a long time before her initial poop but, once she was finished, she didn't yell to attract my attention so I'd let her out. When I did open the door she stayed in. I put my hand in to give her a ride and she moved away to the farthest corner.

When she came out, all her walking was 3-point (2 feet, 1 beak) and she was fluffed up. I kept handing her little pieces of breakfast and she'd take one bite and drop it. The rest of the time her beak was on the bars. So I called the vet. An urgent visit is $210+. Otherwise they couldn't see her until tomorrow.

Cab to 88th & Columbus -- $25 + tip. She perked up a bit and, once we got there, it was obvious that she was favoring her left leg. The vet is really nice. Nothing is broken. With female birds, the left leg can be indicative of gyn problems so she had an x-ray (her insides are fine) and blood work (I'll hear tomorrow.) But it looks like it was just a sprain.

Less traffic coming home so I saved about $5 there. And they very sweetly charged me for a regular visit instead of an urgent one so the vet bill was "only" $526.

And they had to give her a little anesthesia so she'd be still for the x-ray. But she's still a little groggy so she's having even more trouble walking. I've locked her in her cage for her safety until she's less woozy.
