WiFi+4GLTE ups the price by $100 (plus it's only on the ones with huge storage) so I'll go with WiFi only. (Although I'll probably spring for $15 to not get their "special offers" aka their ads instead of a screen saver.

for what its worth ..all of the kindle fires have wifi .. the $99 one is single band, the $124 kindle fire HD has dual band

if you aren't planning to use it on a cell plan just get wifi only the fire HD 8.9" might be slower and lower resolution than the HDX but it has a mini hdmi plug ...

I have a Kindle it's about two years old. It has Wi-Fi & 3G. It's the keyboard edition, I think thats what they call it. All I really want to do on it is read books, so it does all I need it to do. But for some reason I still want to up grade.

this is my second kindle. I have one of the first ones. It has a slot for memory card and it's read only w/cloud (now called paper white?). I still use it.
