I have about 30 in here waiting to be picked up. I work on them as old as 1940 up until the new ones. I get them in from all over the world. I am one of the very few certified service centers in the world for this brand. Our new ones start at $2500. I fix the critters and if I charged more to do that I might have more than two pennies to rub together.
Well pull my hair Cleopatrick ! I had no idea. Dats cool Olibers :D So is dis the brand where the guy came to your house a long time ago and did your rugs to show it off and den made all da housewibes buy it ? So you are actuallys a Sucka Specialist Professionals Guy with a Plumba Butts Degree as a side lime ? :?:

Hahahaha, apparently I'm the only one without a flip phone here. Haven't had one since 2004 or so. And I'm on my iPad. Never had a kindle.

Got my GotVape mail today and placed another order already!
No iPad, no tablet of any sort, no laptop. I hate laptops because when I type I want a full-size keyboard and I can't use that huge "run your finger over it and it works just like a mouse -- if your mouse causes you muscle fatigue and pain" things that take up half the area below the keyboard. I need a mouse.

I have an itsy bitsy desktop (a Mac Mini) with a 24" monitor.

for what its worth ..all of the kindle fires have wifi .. the $99 one is single band, the $124 kindle fire HD has dual band

if you aren't planning to use it on a cell plan just get wifi only the fire HD 8.9" might be slower and lower resolution than the HDX but it has a mini hdmi plug ...
I won't use my cell phone on it. The only reason I'm not set up for WiFi is because I never needed it. There's only one computer in the apartment.

The resolution on the HDX is 33% higher than on the HD (339 vs 254 ppi) (or the HD is 25% lower than the HDX -- depends on which way you calculate it.) I just have to decide if that's worth $150 (the difference between comparable 8.9" Kindles.) The non-HDX 8.9" is actually $10 cheaper than the 7" HDX with the same memory.

I recently got Amazon Prime so I've been watching a lot of cheap videos. I've also been using HitBliss to rent movies & buy TV eps on Amazon but their videos can't be downloaded to a Mac (or an iPod) which is why this is looking good. Watching videos is the best way I've found to stay awake on a train.

The only way they still sell them is if they come to your door, or you buy it from me in my shop. However if you bought a vacuum in 1940 and it is still running, which many are, I think it is a good investment. Plus they are water filtered. OH GOD now you have me giving my sales pitch

A 'liked' post does not mean you've got that number (or that you yourself are even liked). The first person to pick a number gets that number whether it's marked on the board or not. When we 'Like' your picks that means one of the five helpers are marking them on the board. If there are any mistakes/conflicts, we will reply to your post. So check back a while after you pick to see if we noted any problems.

Please do not edit your pick posts.

If someone already took your number, or an error was made, please wait for a helper to post the error. Please "Reply With Quote" to the helper's post with your new pick.

Annabella didn't make it. She died last night or this morning.

Sorry to hear that, P. :(

I've had birds through my life. I tried to save a male Cardinal that was brought to me because it was injured. He had been attacked by a cat. I nursed him and he lived for two weeks. The lady from a Pet Shelter who brought it to me told me her Vet said that Cardinals don't usually last more than a very few days in captivity, so I did pretty good at two weeks. I was trying to get him to learn to fly again. I woke up on a Sunday morning, and he was gone.

I also had a baby Mockingbird that had fallen from a nest that I tried to save. He/she was doing so well in the caged nest I made for him. I had the top of the cage off, with a heat lamp above I could easily remove to feed him. I mulched up worms and crickets from a bait store, and some greens for him, and made them into little balls at first, and then made it more watery and served it from a large dropper. He'd eat, sleep for about 20 minutes, and pop up standing up squawking, ready for more. But he only lived 3 days.

I was so looking forward to teaching them to fly and releasing them. Those were two of the saddest days of my life.

You'll love this video.

Here's the poster's whole description (which should be read):
This is a baby hummingbird I rescued after it was attacked.
The song is "Better Together" by Jack Johnson.

UPDATE!!! when she thought she was ready to leave (and she was) she flew off to her favorite patch of the back yard, and her instincts instantly kicked in, and now she's just like all the other hummingbirds. for those that are concerned that she has imprinted on humans and wouldn't survive in the wild, don't worry, she is thriving. she has even successfully migrated and returned back to my yard. and for those who think i didn't know what i was doing, i did NOT feed her plain sugar water. i went outside 3 times a day and caught flies from my compost bin (be green people) in big bags, crushed them, and mixed them in as well. I also helped her learn to catch flies while flying (not in the video because the flies were too small). It was a pretty hectic but very rewarding experience and, in the end, i don't think it could have worked out any better :)
