Any idea how to make a cloud+flavour build for subtank mini ?
only got 26 kanthal wire..
I want to ask if how many times i must wrap the coils?
how many ohm?
Must i wrap it tight / spaced?
Whats the min watts and max watts i can go ?
How long this build can last?
Sorry if i asked alot, kinda new to vape .
Appreciate if anyone answer all.
You've got A LOT of homework to do... you are about to embark on what is considered advanced vaping. Are you going to be using a mechanical or regulated mod?

In general, the lower in ohms you build to, the hotter the coil will get and the more vapor you'll make. You'll also consume much more juice and the vapor might be too warm to your liking. You'll also drain your batteries much faster.

Lower Ohm Coils Will:
  • Heat The Coil Faster
  • Produce More Vapor
  • Drain The Battery Faster
  • Use E-Juice Faster
  • Produce A "Warmer" Tasting Vape
Higher Ohm Coils Will:
  • Heat The Coil Slower
  • Produce Less Vapor
  • Provide A “Cooler” Tasting Vape
  • Use Less E-Juice
  • Prolong Battery Life
Coils, Wicks, and Vapor Production:
Vapor production comes from a combination of net coil surface area, wicking and juice type, air flow... and the wattage necessary to heat that net coil surface area. If you're lacking in any of those areas, you'll come up short.

Just a few basic points, for your consideration... some IMO, some incontrovertible fact.

  • The gauge of wire and overall length of that wire is what determines resistance. Coil count is irrelevant.

  • Thicker gauge wire, for a given net resistance, where the finished coil(s) physically fits in the atomizer, provides the greatest surface area.

  • Thicker wire, for a given net resistance, runs cooler than thinner wire, for a fixed wattage value.

  • For a given net resistance, thicker wire requires more wattage to obtain the same heat flux (coil radiant heat) as thinner wire. Thinner wire, although it reduces surface area, can be used to raise heat flux where adjustable wattage (mech mod) is not an option.

  • Higher wattage, for a given net resistance, produces more heat, and requires both better air flow and optimized wicking.

  • "In-coil" wicking that is "loose" vs. "tight" is almost always a better choice, as overly tight fits can choke off the capillary action of the wicking medium.

  • Plain old cotton balls can be "unrolled" perpendicular to the grain, to produce a flat strip of cotton.

  • Always roll cotton wick in parallel with the cotton "grain".

  • In an RDA, high VG juice will produce thicker "cloud" density.

Make sure that you use an Ohm reader to measure your coils prior to firing them on your mod. This is essential.

Make sure that the batteries that you use have the appropriate amp (continuous discharge rate) limit for the build that you are making. This is also essential.

Spaced vs compressed coils is personal preference in my opinion. Some may argue that compressed coils are safer against a "hot spot" short, and may be more durable over time.

A well-made coil should last months at a time. Simply dry burn (pulse) the coil a couple of times to burn off the gunk with each wick change (every 3 - 4 days).

Proper wicking is as important as the coil. Not too much, not too little. There's a variety of different wick materials that you can use which may affect the flavor: Organic cotton, Japanese cotton, cellucotton (Rayon), hemp, silica string. My personal favorite is Rayon.

Sounds like you've stepped in at the deep end a bit too soon. You really should post what setup your using for the best advice. And whatever you do, don't start firing off at the max wattage with your first build!

A lot of good knowledge already above so make a start there. :)

Good luck

wrap it 4 - 15 times
.25 - 2.0 ohms
either way on tight or spaced
3W - 150W
it can last 2 or 3 minutes or a couple of months

what are you looking for in your vape quality? what type of mod are you using, what kind of juice are you using, what kind of wick are you using, what kind of battery(s) are you using, what are you using to measure the ohms of your build?
theres more to vaping than just the coil :)

Well said ^^^^^^^

Don't jump in with two feet, watch some YouTube do a little reading, and be safe
Some of that info is subjective. I can get a really cool vape at high watts and low ohms which has won me cloud comps. It's all about airflow, heat flux and heat capacity. It's not a hotter coil that gives you more vapor. It's more surface area. All a hotter coil is going to do is burn your juice.

that's very good point, and why I prefer dual parallel builds on my RDA's that cover more cotton...[emoji12]

I hate the RBA v1 and v2, I rebuild the coil heads with 26g, 6 wraps on a 7/64 usually ends up being around between 6 and 7 ohms, if you want clouds its all about the wicking after doing it that way, you'll want to do the scottish roll, use as much cotton as you possibly can without it moving the coil over when you put it in, then cut as short as possible and stuff it in the side holes, you really want to have it on the verge of leaking. adjust your wattage to how you've wicked it..

Sometimes the max I'll be able to fire it is about 27 watts, other times I can fire up to 37 watts, its all about the wicking being fine tuned. (Gets too hot higher than that).

Clouds and flavor are amazing if you do it good but wont be close to a dripper or something like the tfv4 just not enough airflow/wicking etc.

I'm with Paul lamb, I set up my sub tank minis with 5 wraps of 26 gauge at 2.5 mm on the RDA and am very happy with the vapor production. Comes out to about .65 ohms for me. I've tried a lot of build and this seems to be the sweet spot. Make sure your running on a regulated device so you can adjust your wattage. I run about 18-20 watts. Microcoil, so not spaced for me.

I'll be the one to ask.

Are a Smoker trying to quit?
Are you a Cloud chasing Fan?

*Would you purchase an 18 wheeler and then decide to learn to drive it?
*Trick Question. Learning is key, not asking others for builds free from knowledge of Why they work.

No one here(hopefully) wants to see anyone get hurt.

But i've seen the youtube videos,
The clouds are kinda cool.
Just trying to figure out how to do it :-(.
@Asylumsix thanks though :)

Are you doing mouth to lung or lung hits? Open the airflow all the way and try inhaling it directly to your lungs for as long as you can, may cough if your nicotine or pg is too high though. Then exhale it as fast as you can evenly paced to push out the cloud.
