I originally posted this in the new members fourm.

I finally received my pre order cloupor mini today from fast tech after waiting 2 months only to find it was a lemon. Once the battery is placed into the mod it turns on right away and vapes great. Once powered off with the 5 clicks of the fire button or left on until sleep mode for about 5 seconds the mod fires continuously on it's own until the battery is physically removed. Thank god I caught this right out of the box and didn't have it blow up in my pocket.

I took a video of it malfunctioning but unfortunately I'm new to this forum and it will not allow me to post links. if you search "Cloupor Mini Malfunction" on youtube posted today you can see my video footage.

I've emailed cloupor and fast tech and 2 days have gone by with no response. What poor customer service. If this thing actually worked right and was safe I'd say it would have been my go to all day vape mod.

Someone from FT finally emailed me today so hopefully this issue will get resolved.

If you have started your Support Ticket, you will be fine. DO NOT PLACE A BATTERY in the unit again.
Some of the Pre-release Cloupor Mini 30w Had Chip issues which lead to the uint Shorting completely and melting the Plastic over the Board area.
Just don't Chance it!
Once Fasttech Contacts you about the issue and you work out replacement, they will have you ship the Cloupor to Fl.

You are pretty much out of luck for the next 2 weeks, but that is ALL of China - Not Fasttech. National Holiday

I was in ecig store Wembley today and saw the were recalling clipped minis too. I don't own one but noticed the sign..

Clipped Minis? You mean Cloupor Mini?
As stated - Pre-orders - Few Defects(voluntary recalls by some) Batch #0002xx
I own a Batch 0002xx Silver - No issues
I also own a Batch 0006xx Black - No issues

if you watch my updated youtube video it shows what the issue is.

Cloupor Mini malfunction 2: http://youtu.be/A5w8FtO428c

When it's turned off or left on until sleep mode the mod will fire after about 5 secs continuously until the battery is physically removed or if you bring it back out of sleep mode or click 5 times to turn it back on then it stops fireing. It's crazy. I'm sure if I were to let it fire until my coil breaks and my whick burns up the chip would prob over heat and burn as well. I've been using it with caution and removing the battery once I'm done vapeing. The mod would be amazing if it functioned as advertised. Hopefully my replacement will operate properly. Also, FYI I pre charged my batterys on an external charger prior to unboxing the unit and testing. The direct unit charge or pass through feature was never used.

Does anyone know if anyone is going to be putting out a similar mod with a removable 18650 in the same size class?

I have two as well, had them for a month plus. One is 00026, which is Black. The other is 00045, and that one is Silver. Mine have performed very well. Basicly the only Mods I use now. That is until my Clearance iPV 35w comes in, got that bad boy for less than my Cloupor's. I always wanted one when they were on preorder but I wasn't as into Vaping then as I am now. So when I saw it for $35 Shipped on Vapor Beast I was forced to buy it lol.. It was some type of Daily Deals they do, Never really noticed their site until then, deff check back often now. In this case I'm sure they were just ditching inventory, they had 80 they sold at that price. It's messed up that something that isn't even a year old yet is considered "old tech" but that's the e cig world. LoL It's HUGE Compared to a Cloupor Mini, So it may feel weird for a bit. But in Quality it should be a Step Up, Esp with a 1 Year Warrenty.

Personally, I wouldn't trust a device with so many documented problems.

You may want to try an iStick 50w for about 45 bucks....great mods.

Seems kind of Lame making a statement like that and Recommending a Mod that was just released. Look at the Faults discovered in the original iStick. Until the mod has been in the hands of Actual vapors for a few weeks/months it is not Proven, only updated.

Based on your preferences, you would never own any automobile or any of many other products. All production items have some failure rate - even Provari

One other concern - No matter how well you take care of an iStick, it has a built in LI-battery. In 300-500 cycles it goes in the recycle bin.

And so will removable batteries.

And likely most people at that time would buy a newer mod as well, the way things are going.

Eric

Maybe, maybe not.
Both my eVics are over 3 years old, have seen a few batteries and still do the job as originally designed. Great for work, trips shopping, etc. :)
If judging by Obsolete, the CM @ $29.00 was a steal.:D The IPV Mini2 70w was also a good Bargain at $62.99:laugh:
