Another one bites the dust compliments of the PACT Act.

Jonathon Polack is closing down his business clubsnus.com, intends to have his stock gone prior to June 19th.

He's running 10 for price of 8 on everything plus unloading all the swag he's got.

I just placed an order with him, so long to another independent :(

So what makes everybody think they can't keep a business open?? Too much hassle due to regulations or what? Jonathon sounded like he was prepared to go with the flow and was gearing up for Pact. What changed his mind??

V, keep that thread goin'. Looks like we're gonna be DIYers out of necessity.

OTD, thanks for the update chief, glad you're on top of things.

Away..
Local businesses wont have a problem other than higher sale prices as long as they just sell in state and out the front door.
Its the internet sellers TV that are getting hosed. Along with us.
They have to track, charge at the time of sale taxes for the state its being sold to, report it, pay it and then it appears UPS is the only possible shipper right now.
They arent cheap. More hassle than its worth for the I Net sellers. Which is who they want out of business anyway.
I wonder if they will need sale permits next for each state they sell to?????
Talk abt a death sentence!

I'm installing a secret kill switch on all our vehicles. When we are traveling out and about and I see a baccy shop, hit the switch....one in the passengers seat too.
Hmmmm....."ol Uplander still has that problem". Guess I'll walk over to the smoke shop while it cools...agn...roflmao!

2nd set of seeds started last Sunday.

Not good news but still not as pessimistic as Vaporer. Kind of expected that the smaller venders are going to have a hard time with this. Clubsnus is the shiny new kid on the block and very small compared to Northerner and Getsnus. Not to surprising that he doesn't have the resources to deal with this. Until recently he had nothing that I actually wanted to order.

Now if Northerner shuts down I'm gonna by worried.

Has anyone heard if getsnus is staying on course? Searching their site for pact, but not finding much. I am heartened by the fact that Thunder, General, and Fellinni will still be available here.

On the getsnus forum there was a post from Jill in Customer Service stating that they didn't fully know how it was all going to shake out but they every intention in staying in place.

Curious though, the thread we both posted in over to snuson regarding clubsnus is gone, deleted. What's up with that I wonder.

Like most around here, I hate to see the small vendors closing up shop, but from a business perspective there is value in seeing the marketplace consolidated a bit. While it creates fewer store options for the consumer, for the businesses themselves it creates a larger sales volume... and ultimately more volume = more customers = more profit = a bigger voice with state and federal regulators. Seeing Swedish Match in bed with BT in this case is a good thing.

It's exactly what I would like to see happen with the fragmented PV industry.

How's that for being a contrarian?

Contrarian perhaps but it does make a certain kind of sense. Main issue with the consolidated track is the monopoly aspect. Northerner is a good example. Reasonably large vendor with widespread customer base. Notice there pricing for the past month or more. It's been going up more so than their few real competitors. Much more consolidation and the customers won't have the benefit of market driven prices. Only the detriments due to lack of competition.

Just talking.....

    Somewhere between here and there
As usual I am late to the party. I keep forgetting to check for new/other threads on the smokeless forum. I have not bought from clubsnus before but will definitely go take a look to see if there is something I can't live without. I hate to hear about anyone having to go out of business.
