Okay, officially had my last analog cig this morning and have been vaping today with my new kit. I have two 900 mah vision spinner batteries and a kanger mini protank 2v2.

A friend helped me out everything together and it's been working great, but...

1. It makes this really loud sound when I hold the button down. Almost sounds like a suction at the dentist office.

2. There were no directions on cleaning anything or changing anything. I looked at some YouTube videos, but the ones I watched seem to conflict. I have no clue what I'm doing and don't want to break anything.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hello and welcome to the forum.

1. Get online and order some more heads/attys for the mini protank. You will need them.
2. I'm not familiar with the mini protank but if it's anything like the other then as you use them the coils will gunk up. You can clean them by soaking in vodka, vinegar, boiling, different people have different methods and then doing a dry burn. The dry burn is firing the battery (pressing the button with no juice) until the coil glows a bit (blow on it to help cool it and keep it from over burning) and do this a few times to burn off any left over gunk. Then wash it again in hot water or you can soak again your choice. This will help recover an atty a few times but atty's are disposable so have some in stock.
3. Stock up on some juice. It goes quicker than you may think and some you will like and some you will hate.
4. Get another battery. Keep a spare for the spare.
5. Ask questions here and they will get answered. And if one answer if wrong someone will come in and correct them and make things right. This is an awesome forum and you will get help and support on your journey.

You started out just fine. Sounds like a solid kit. If your cleaning the battery connection, then I suggest a Q-tip with a drop or two of rubbing alcohol. The higher alcohol content the better. If it's your pro tank then a nice alcohol bath will clean it very well. I use Everclear for cleaning all my tanks, clear's etc. 95% alcohol. Let it dry really good. As for the wicks. I'd replace em when the time comes.
The noise you may be hearing is the draw your using. Slow down the intake of vapor. Your not trying to keep anything burning. When I get excited (most of the time) I'll hear the noise you describe. When I slow down the inhale, the noise goes away and I get a fantastic vape.
Welcome to ECF and good luck on your new journey.

Sounds like a great kit! I love my spinners. Good luck!

I use Protank mini IIs on my Ego C-twist for vaping on the go. They rule. Definitely get some replacement coils. But, if you feel like being adventurous, get some 32ga Kanthal wire and some organic cotton. You can rebuild those suckers and cotton makes high end juices taste a lot better.

I learned to do it from this video here:
Kanger Mini Protank II (Easy Cotton Rebuild Tutorial) - YouTube

Good luck and never stop vaping.

Hi Faith and congrats on being analog free since this morning. The kit you are using will be a good one for you. I'm vaping a Spinner as I type, tho the clear I am using is a Kanger MT3S and I am sure the mini protank will do well for you. It doesn't sound like you are clueless at all because you've made some wise choices. First, you are vaping instead of smoking....very wise. And you gear choice is also a good one.

As has been said, that slight bubbling or sizzling sound is normal. Slow and easy on the draw is way better than fast. It is a bit different from smoking an analog. And as has been said, keeping everything clean is good advice. Q-tips have become my best friend. Every time I change clearos or recharge my batteries, I clean the contacts.

You may already know this, but keep up your water intake and get backups for your backups. Those suggestions that I learned from folks in ECF have really helped me on my vaping journey.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Namaste.

Great advice in here so far. Don't get too frustrated, I did, and stop vaping and went back to analogs for a bit. Just didn't know what I was supposed to do and how to keep everything clean and fresh and save money. Seemed like a lot of money for something that was frustrating and not consistent.
Stick with it and get your questions answered in the forums.
Cheers

Hi Faithk
I have the Kanger mini protank II also, was set up by a nice man in the shop I bought it from and didn't have a clue either! Your 2nd question was 1 i wanted to know too :) I have been using it for a week now and i have another puzzle i would like answering, I started on 11mg nicotine Dekang golden Virginia flavour as i smoked roll ups, it hurt my throat and i still wanted to smoke, I have upped to 16mg and also changed flavour to raspberry (which i like!) but.... i still get the sore throat thing but don't need to roll up anymore, is this normal?

What PG/VG is your juice? From what I could gather and understand, the higher the PG, the stronger the throat hit. The higher the VG, the stronger the vapor. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...too new to this still.

PG gives the throat hit and the most flavor
VG makes the vapor cloud.
I would venture to say that the Dekang could be several mixtures. Some Dekang juices come in 100% PG, 80PG/20VG, and 75PG/25VG mix. I like the 80/20 mix myself. Nice flavor and great throat hit.

The throat hurt or "hit" is caused by the higher PG ratio in the Dekang juices.

sounds like the PG ratio is a bit high ( PG is known to cause a harder hit to the throat burning, harshness) you may want to consider looking into another juice vendor that offers 100% VG... I use 100VG from Heathers Heavenly Vapes ( Legend is my favorite, comes in 100ml bottles too and its affordable 40.00 for 100ml)
