i couldn't tell you how much I have spent but I know at first I almost gave in because the initial cost. However almost 2 years vaping I know I saved a bunch of money.

Granted I did not quit right away, I slowly replaced analogs with vaping. first year I went from 10 packs a week to 2 packs a week (saving about $200 a month). After the initial few months I wouldn't let myself spend more then i saved and that quickly went down. Now a carton of annalogs a week would cost me $275 a month and I might average $75 a month in spending (that probably on the high end).

I have had almost every ego style battery, vision spinner, every ego style tank, smoktech SID, sigeli zmax v3, zmax v5, sentenial M16 and an origion. Pro tank, protank 2, evods, iclears, vivi nova's, RSST's, cyclone RDA, Igo L, trident.

What I do when I try something knew and dont use my old stuff is either sell it cheap to get someone started or just give the stuff away to others. I have personally gotten over 10 people to start/try vaping.

My thought was "I'm just going to vape to get off cigs, then I'm done". Boy was I wrong! In the last 3 weeks I've bought: an SVD, a Vamo V5, a Cool fire 1, 3 PT3s, a Kayfun lite, a Semovar, a bunch of batteries, and about 30 bottles of juice. That doesn't count the spare coils, wick, wire, DTs, and other little stuff. I can see where this becomes a hobby!

various eliquids about 60.00

I'm guessing that's about $400 to my friends across the pond.

Yah but. You're talking "start up" costs. And hardware is durable (as opposed to cigs that are meant to be burned up).

Also, dude, you buy out the store?

:)

It can be cheaper. Much cheaper. I spend around 10% of what I was spending on smoking. My kit is basic (Twist batteries, EVOD clearos), nothing fancy. I DIY my regular liquids (buy nic, PG, VG, flavors in bulk) and only rarely buy a premix. Money's tight right now so even though I want to move up to a mod (I'm thinking iTaste VTR... real steam punk look :) ), for now I'm doing fine with basic, simple, and cheap. In fact, I checked recently and from August to October, I bought nothing. I had an order in July then the next was November. Both were about $30 ('bout 18 pound... I can't find the pound symbol on my keyboard, sorry :) ).

Then again, suppose you turn it into a hobby and buy all kinds of toys. There are certainly worse habits. Like, oh, smoking.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't taxes on tobacco pretty high over there? Smoking can't be a cheap habit. I know it's not cheap over here and I'm not even in a "high tax" state...

We(Hubby and I) are 2 weeks into vaping so far we have spent $280 for both of us. We have bought all of that at local B&Ms and would have spent less online. We are set for for the next month even with juice and spend about $300 a month in cigarettes so hopefully we will start saving next month when all we will need is replacement heads and juice.

Still worth it at twice the price... :vapor:

Startup cost for me was about $70 US. Ego battery, cartomizer, and a bunch of liquids! Have spent about $100 more since then on a battery upgrade, an Igo-L, supplies for rebuilding and more liquids to try out! Saved half of what I normally spent on analogs just to get where I'm comfortable, and will eventually move up to mods when the funds are available (Hopefully sometime this next year!). :p

The initial cost to get going good may be a little expensive but look at it this way...

Say you bought roughly a pack a day at , for the sake of this post. 5 $ american. (Mind you cig prices fluctuate but w/e)

Thats (Assuming my math is right) 1825$. Thats not accounting for lighters, lighter fluid for some lighters, replacing things that it burns (Carpet ,clothes etc) or even doctor visits due to your immune system ALONE being weaken so you get sick faster and doctor visits aren't cheap in many places. I'm not even getting into what else analogs do to your body but you bet thats expensive to in the long run.

400 dollars is you spent to get going good (Assuming you got everything you need, looks like you did)
With the liquid stock you probably built up, you are set for a while. Fluid is relatively cheap and lets face it last longer than one would expect.

Though I do feel your pain, stuff is expensive to get going especially if you dont know what to buy and end up getting bad kits/batteries/tanks and things like that.

It gets easier though. Batteries for MOD's aren't necessarily cheap but probably won't break you either, thankfully they last a very long time.
