Since the Kanger has temp control I would just put into TC-Ni. Depending on what resistance of the coil is is where you probably want your wattage and temp set at. JadaidasKV is right, don't go nuts thinking it needs 75w@500f. Hth

I've been looking this up, and the pre installed coil is .15 ohm..

I'm thinking to start around 30 watts and go up from there, then set it and go into temp mode - but as I don't sub ohm I'd rather someone who does give proper advice there.

Yep. 30w and 300f to start. You'll find your spot from there.

hi I just got my topbox mini and it is pre installed with a NI coil.

What is the setting I should set it at to Ensure it doesn't burn or spoil the coil?

Also, can anyone help me and teach me what coil have to use what ohm or temp control to use?

Thanks!

This video here is a good one that applies to breaking in just about any coil (even though he is showing the uwell crown) might want to watch it so that you get good and primed before firing the coil the first time, this way you don't burn up your coil..

Just to avoid any confusion, you must be in temp control Ni to safely use that coil. It should not be used in wattage mode. While wattage can be set in temp control mode, the temperature, and the ability of the mod to maintain that temperature is what assures safe use of a Ni (or Ti) coil. The only metal which may safely used in both wattage and temp control mode is SS.

Start low. Can put it on ni or wattage mode. Which ever u do start low and work your way up to what works for you.

Im not familure w that mod but it probably reads and sets the ohms for the coil you put on it.
Sorry, but it is a Ni coil, which means it cannot be used in wattage mode.....only Ni temp mode. As Eskie stated above, only stainless steel coils can be used in either temp mode, or wattage mode.

Oops. Sorry my bad.
Thats weird. I didnt know they made strictly ni coils and coils that can only be used in TC mode. I would get different coils lol.

I have 3 different types of coils, only one say on the box they are ss. The ss clocc for my cupti. I have ccell-gd ceramic coils for my vaporesso target mini which can be used in w or tc mode. Then i have smok v8 baby q2 .4Ω coils. Doesnt say if they are ss or anything else on the box and ive used them in tc and w. Usually only w but i tried them in tc. Was totally unaware they had strictly tc mode coils. I figured if they came pre-installed on the mod and the mod did tc and w they could handle tc and w. Sorry to misinform. At least the starting low n slow part was good advice lol

Nickel coils should not be used in vw mode.
