I have 2 AGA-T2's running 400 stainless mesh and 32g kanthal coils at around 1.8 to 2.2 ohms all firing fine on an SVD. I'm pretty good at building my coils and removing any hot spots but yesterday I got a cobra come in the mail. This is the genuine cobra 5ml and not the Chinese clone. So, here's my problem:
I made a new wick out of 400 mesh and done a 5 coil wrap with a constant hot spot up the top no matter how much I adjusted it. I noticed that tightening the top post makes the hot spot worse to the point where I had to keep it so loose, I was in fear of it falling off. I also get a lot of atomizer short messages on my evic. It will fire, give me an atomizer short message, fire, give me a short message etc etc. Now I use my evic to test it as I can always see what's going on in the screen before putting the tank on my SVD.
I've tried the drill bit method and it works fine until the wick goes in and the top hot spot problem starts all over again. I've tried repositioning the coils, making a new wick, making coils on end for hours and it's driven me crazier than I already am which is a big problem. I even tore the coils off both my AGA-T2's and my AGI and rebuild them without any problem yet the cobra is driving me crazy. Please shed any kind of light that may help make this work because I'm about to throw it at a wall!
Thank you kindly for any info or advise.
