I'm using a provari battery with a cobra rebuildable atomizer. After making my wick and wiring it up I'm only getting a reading do 1.1 ohm. What am I doing wrong? I have tried burning the wick again and that didn't work. What size should the ss mesh be before I roll it up? Any help will be greatly appreciated as this thing is making me crazy.

Need more windings of the Wire. What type of wire did you use? It should be Kanthal around 32 gauge. If you wind the coils closer together and put in more the resistance will go up. Here is a calculator I made in XL.

Oh almost forgot did you oxides the mesh? That is important. Some will do it in water some put some juice on it and set it on fire. I have not done one of those types yet but I've been researching them.
The higher the number the smaller the wire and the higher the resistance is. Mixing that with the number of wraps will allow you to come up with all sorts of different ohm readings for your coil. While 32 gauge is the most used, it isn't the only one used, I use 33 some use 34, and some drop down to 28 or 30.
Can anyone give me specific measurements for the amount of mesh I should be using? I'm starting to think that I'm using to much. When I put the wick in the hole I have to kind of twist it a little to go down. It doesn't just slide easily into the hole.

I don't know the measurements for the cobra but with regards to what your describing the issue may be a short. Once the mesh is oxidised every step after needs to be very gentle to ensure you dont rub the oxidisation off, from placing the mesh into your device to ensure the coiling does not bite through the oxidisation and make contact with steel, the tiniest silliest thing in your method can cause this flaw so pay particular attention to this. You can also test a short quite easily by dry burning with quick pulses, just enough not to melt the coil but to reassure yourself that it is glowing evenly across the length of the coil. If you notice it glowing faster in a certain part of the coil, theres your problem, sometimes prodding/realigning the coil with a non metallic object like a toothpick and gently (so you dont scratch the oxidisation) can help to move it from the shorting/contacting point.
If you think you are using too much, you probably are. I use a 2x5cm cut to make a wick for a 3/32 coil/hole.
Measure your wick hole by sizing it up with a drill bit. Then adjust accordingly. I've un-rolled wicks and trimmed them and re-rolled, so its best to start larger and work your way smaller. Use your existing wick and/or length. Adjust only the width of the mesh.

Ugh!! Im so frustrated with this. Its still not working..This is what happens when I try to check the ohms. Please tell me what Im doing wrong and what I can do to fix this...Im so close to just giving up and sending it back.

Have you adjusted the coils? the good part is that it is firing. It appears to be shorting tho. Another good part is it looks like its not shorting bad enough to pop the wire.
You need to now start adjusting the coils until they all start to glow. I would gently nudge each coil, firing short bursts after each adjust until it improves. Might also very gently spin/twist the wick inside the coils about a quarter turn or so, this will move the position of every spot where a coil touches the wick and hopefully find some non-shorting spots.
Only other thing that could keep you from getting it right is how yer mesh is oxidized. You don't want to "over oxidize" the wick. You want the wick to change color and get darker during the oxidizing process but you don't want it to be a super black charred piece of SS, this can give some strange ghost like issues..
Best suggestion I can make is to just keep at it. We have all been there and it can be frustrating but eventually it becomes super easy and second nature. Good luck.

Also turn the voltage down on your Provari to about 3v-3.2v until you get your wick to glow all orange, and dont fill any liquid in your tank until it is glowing all orange, like others said, turn your wick a very little bit at a time, it should be able to spin, if not the coil wire is to tight. We all have been there, once you get it, and do it a few times and get it right, it will become like 2nd nature and the flavor will be recklessly super
Canar if your wick is touching that post detach the top wire going to it and put a needle between that center post and wick then reattach the wire but in doing so dont pull to hard on it or the the wire will dig in to the mesh and break the oxidation layer. You want the top wire taught but not where you have to pull real tight.
Then give short fire to see if anything glows if so use something like toothpick and gently nudge that top glowing wire up a hair or down a hair.
I tell you most if not all of us been there and once you get it right you get better and better at it but try it when your in the mood and something else to vape so your comfortable.

From your pic it seems to me the wire to the positive post may be too long, try to make it as short as possible from wick to post w/o having your wick or coil touch the positive post. I also had a lot of trouble with my cobra at first, it took me about a week of rolling, oxidizing, unrolling, trashing wicks, wrapping coils, trashing coils, you get the point. Keep at it, the payoff is worth it.
