This is very common, addiction is very complex and in the years you have smoked your brain has established this habit/ritual of having a cigarette after coffee and meals. Its not really about cigarettes tasting better after those things, its more that you have tied the smoking (flavour, nicotine, physical action) with the satisfaction from the meal and the coffee. Coffee in particular is very powerful becasue you are flooding your brain with nicotine and caffeine at the same time, and that positive feeling has now been connecting to smoking.
My advice would be to read a book called 'the power of habit', theres a chapter on smoking, but its really about all habits and how complex they are. I found the best approach is to take steps to disturb the habits, while also having a substitute. The ecig can be a good substitute, but I would actually try switching flavours to something that isn't so similar to your existing habit. And instead of having a cup of coffee at your desk, go for a walk and have a cup of tea, just anythign that you can think of that is different from your current habit but that gives you some enjoyment. For me I stayed with coffee, but I always went for a walk in the sun to get my coffee, and now I just walk somewhere and get a muffin.
Anyway, its a very interesting book, when you understand how habits work you are better equipped to replace them (as opposed to just 'quitting' whic is very difficult).
