I haven't been able to drink coffee for a lot of years. I get tightness in the chest and high blood pressure when I drink coffee even decaf. I have been vaping for about 3 months now and have tried a lot of different flavors, including several coffee flavors. I really like the coffee flavors and was really happy to again be able to taste the coffee and had made coffee my main vape. Well, now I have been getting some of the same symptoms that I had with coffee. I didn't think of this first. First I thought I might have to high of nic. juice, so I cut that back even to 0 nic and still have the symptoms. I considered reactions to pg or vg and have tried cutting each of these out one at a time. Still the symptoms. This morning I decided to try to do without the coffee flavoring and vape something else to see if the symptoms go away. I don't want to give up the coffee flavors, but if its a choice between that and going back to smoking I will. Does anyone else have symptoms like that and if so what did you do?

Well I know back in the late 70's when there was a coffee shortage my mom started drinking Sanka which is chickory and it taste pretty close to coffee. So you could get some Sanka and some pg/or vg and make your own coffee abolute and then make your 'coffee" ejuice out of that. It worth a try.
Thanks Misshaunter, I am going to town tonight and will pick some up and try it. I hope the stores around here have chickory I don't remember seeing it. How do I add the chickory to the pg?

To make your own flavor with it, get a small bowl, put you a filter in it( I use 2 filters to make sure one doesn't rip when I squeeze it out later) , pour in your grounds, and then pour in just enough PG or VG (whatever your preference) to cover the grounds. Put a cover on it and set it in a cool dark place for a 2 days or so, sometimes more. It'll first start looking like weak tea, then get darker as it leeches the flavors out. The liquid should start looking like coffee. then just gather up the grounds in the filter and squeeze the rest of the PG/VG out. Then just put it in a bottle for storage. Then you have a nice PG or VG based flavor for your own DIY Juices.

*edit* As a note to your original question though, I've never had any issue like that, and I LOVE coffee flavored e-juice. Though I'm a heavy coffee drinker ( 120+ fl oz a day)

Sanka is just decaf coffee. If your symptoms are a result of tannins, you would also be allergic to all kinds of food & drink, but surprisingly not so much coffee: Tannin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thanks t9c, that eliminates one problem. I vaped different flavors for the last 24 hrs. and the symptoms have gone away. I still haven't found any chicory to try, but will look again today.
Thats what I thought about Sanka also. I am going to look at the ingredients again to make sure.
