hallo guys. Im new at all this vaping thing. I recently bought the vandy vape’s 80W mod and 22 BF pulse rda. What coil build should i aim for? Wires, ohms etc.

Hi Bill and welcome,
Tell us how much you smoked and for how long.
What is the nicotine level of your liquid(s)?

What features prompted you to buy the mod/RDA combo?
What wire do you have?
What tools do you have for building coils?
What types of devices have you build for before?
Where are you located?

Not to state the obvious, but which build videos have you watched for the Pulse22? (YOUTUBE)
What kind of vape are you trying to achieve? Flavour/clouds or just something to keep you away from the cancer sticks that won't drain the battery in an hour and consume 15ml of expensive retail juice?

Cheers
I

That is more of a personal preference thing. What I like may not be something you like. But if you are just starting, a simple round wire build would be a good place to start. Maybe 24 or 26 gauge. I find it better to start at a higher ohm and work your way down until you find the spot you are comfortable with. Maybe aim for around 0.5 or 0.6 range to start with and drop it by 0.1 increments until you are in your comfort zone, and fine tuned from there.

Try a coil build calculator, like steamengine, to figure out what wire and how many wraps to get your desired ohm range.

Hello izan and nice to meet u. I personally never smoke cigars and i will never do. I used to vape from my pal’s e-cig and i i finally got mine. I purchased 3 e-liquids with 0ml of nicotine.i also bought a fused clapton 24g*2+32g A1 kanthal as it was suggested by my friend. Thats why im actually make my question here. Is it possible for me to vape with this kind of wire in a one battery squonk mod? I also would like to mention that i am a fan of cloud chasing ;)

While you can, that would make a big coil with a lot of mass. It will have a slow ramp up (time it takes the coil to get hot enough to start vaporizing the liquid) and will drain a battery faster than a coil with lower mass. I use claptons on my single battery mods, but the ones I use are thinner and easier to heat up. Mine are 28x3+40 Ni80.

Coil with a bigger mass=big clouds? And also what’s the difference between kanthal A1, Ni80, SS316?

More mass does not make bigger clouds. It just uses up more battery and usually runs hotter and easier to make lower ohm builds with it.
A1- highest resistance of the three, but easier to work with. Does not work on temp control.
Ni80- lower resistance than A1, slightly springy when winding coils which makes it harder to work with. Ramps up faster than A1, does not work on temp control.
SS- lowest resistance, most springy of the three, ramps up fastest, works on temp control.

The wire you choose is your preferance. I like the flavor Ni80 gives me more than the other options, but everyone is different so trying them all for yourself is recommended.

They are all different types of wire and have different properties.

I hate to point out the obvious, (to me at least) fact that a single battery mod is probably not the BEST first option for "huge gigantic clouds," even if you had the best battery in the world in there.

If I were you, I'd buy a regulated dual or even triple battery build and some drop in coils as honestly starting OUT with an RTA/RBA well man, IDK.

If you must do this, well check out steam-engine.org, look up or ask about the stuff that doesn't make sense (a lot of it will not make sense) and well, hang out in the rebuildable section of the forum and etc. If you are mechanically adept and whatnot yeah, watching a few you tube builds on your atomizer may help you. Etc.

I still think you have entirely the wrong gear but well maybe your definition of cloudy is different than mine.

Best of luck, welcome aboard.

Anna
