4 wrap twisted 28g kanthal, on the Standard Did. 270 mesh 50 mm rolled into a tight straw on a 5/64 Allen key. 0.8Ω, airhole 5/64. AW IMR 18650 1600 mAh should be a 5.25 amp 22 watts fully charged.

I think i shall, tho it is not original in any way shape, or form, call it the 'All I Want Is A Coffee and a Cigarette, Dangit!!!' Coil. Plus, i need to stop watching Riptripper videos, like NOW.

I re-wrapped this. Used the next smaller Allen key (1/16?)--same 270 mesh 50mm. Fits really loose in the wick hole. Same twisted 28g. 4 wraps. 0.6Ω. Pulsed it out really good. Turned out the lights, fired it to really make sure coils were lighting from the inside-out. Burned some juice on the set-up. Really burns thru juice, but no hot legs. Filled it up. Fill screw in. You don't need long pulls /c this one. Tastes great :D

Got home, was rebuilding my other Did to be like the first. Looked at the build i did last night. Tightened up the neg screw, which came loose. Made a hot leg and had to do the first Did all over again.

That's ok. I like to do things in duplicate anyway. Tests my hypotheses better. So I made two builds this morning. Same 270 mesh, 50 mm. Roll mesh on a 5/64 Allen key really tight. Take out that key, 1/16 Allen key. Roll mesh really tight. Straw. Standard Did wick hole is 3.5mm. My wick is really loose, like you can see some space loose. An amateur observation--270 mesh, with its coarse grain, works on capillary action. Is it true wicking? I really don't care. This straw wick stays soaked, and heats up faster (less mesh/wick in the set-up).

I had to twist more 28g wire. I was lazy, and the twists were just a hair looser (i use a drill). 4/5 wrap. You wind really tight when the wire is this thick--and you will have success. My Allen key is left in the mesh, and I wind directly onto this, off of the atty. See first pic. Hook up pos lead. From the bottom--clockwise, I wound 4 times, then pos leg went counter around pos pin. Apply a bit of tension to the Allen key--ΑWAY from the pos pin ( no lazy wicks in THIS house). Tighten nut, just do not overdo it.

Even up wraps, and snug up coil to the wick. No gaps between coil and wick--tutorials, good wrapping technique, blahblahblah. Neg lead is going to be attached counterclockwise, if you are following from bottom.

When I attach my coil assembly to
the device, I leave my wick raised up. I scooch it down into position, so the top of the wick is just a hair shorter than pos pin. This serves as a check, to make sure that my coil is not too tight.

I have been vaping on these builds for about an hour. One is 0.7Ω. The other one is 0.9Ω. I just measured them, using a multimetre and the screwyinnie ohm checker. What is weird is that I built them side by side, with identical methods. They looked identical. And fired the same. After pulsing out the coils, and brushing and nudging them w a flathead screwdriver, they fired just like the pic of my dry burn above, just a little brighter. No wick shorts or hot legs or anything, at the end.

Both vape the same. Very dense, wet vape. Not too warm. But produce vapor fast. Very nice.

I think that I did not twist the wire as tight made the vapor denser. Wicking great, fill screws in. These guys are getting vaped @ home. Builds looked same as pix above. I am lazy and tired after a long weekend on duty.

Dids are really gr8 gennies. I have built on these things SO MANY TIMES!! They still look wonderful.
