Hi I'm new to coil building and I have a mvp 20w and a tesla 2 dripper I don't know what kind of coil to build for this, can anyone help me please ?

It's not the coil build for the gear. It is the kind of vape you like and satisfies your craving.

Are you a mouth to lung or someone that takes lung hits.

Are you a flavor chaser or a cloud chaser.

Do you tootle along with low wattage or do you like big power.

When we know how you like your vape we can help you get from here to there.

I prefer lung hits and clouds but good flavor and a lot of power, I just don't know what kind of coil to build for the setup I have that won't blow my face off if anyone has any suggestions on what to build j would appreciate it.

Hi @Crazymankills and welcome to the forum. I don't even know if it's possible (I assume it is) to drip with only 20 watts as most people I know who drip really push more power. However, you will NEED to use this calculator to build a coil :http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp?r=0.5&awg=24&id=2 Input the wire you are using, the desired goal (ex: .5 ohms), and then the diameter of the coil and it will tell you how many wraps you need. However #2, I'd be surprised if you could build as low as .5 ohm and get it to work with good results with only a 20w mod. Soo...

Bump for another opinion.

Good luck.

With 20 Watts I would go for a single coil build. 26 GA Kanthal A1 wire , 7 wraps ~ 1 Ohm, 3mm in diameter, spaced coil. Makes for good flavor and you can get quite impressive clouds (at least for non-vapors).

http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp?r=1&hfnw=20&awg=26&id=3

And use very low nicotine like 3mg/ml, nicotine flash is much stronger when dripping.

you can do it at 20 watts, but the flavor will suck, the only way I can think of for you to get around this would be to "dragon wick" With nano coils your ramp will stay high even at low watts and the way dragon wicks work it will jet the vape straight into the mouthg piece, so there will be a minimel loss in flavor. google riptripper and dragon wick, the video will help you.

with a 20 watt device dripping is definitely possible but ohms will have to be higher due to limited wattage i would use a calculator and check ohms before using sticking aroung .8-1.2 ohms

.8-1 ohm is my sweet spot and I use two RTAs at 12.5-20 watts.

For my 26 gauge Kanthal 8 wraps around the shaft of the little blue screwdriver gives me .77-.83 ohms.
