Hi guys, new dude here. I'm using the Kanger subtank mini, on the
rba deck. I have a few questions, of course.
Firstly, has anyone or is anyone using a dual build on this one ? Is it working well ?
And secondly, what builds are best for cloud-chasing and/or flavour intensity ?
I'm using 26g Clapton and organic cotton.
Thanks in advance
Hi and welcome to the forum.
You could do a dual coil build on the STM, however there are some disadvantages to it.
First the RBA only has single airflow right in the center. No matter how you'd position your 2 coils, there wouldn't be a firing coil right where you want it: above that hole. This really impacts the flavour.
Second, the juiceholes are on the side, this can complicate proper wicking, and cause leakage.
Third, you'd most likely place the 2 coils parallel into the posts, causing lower resistance and needing more power.
Fourth, you're using clapton, there's not a lot of space in the RBA, you'd end up with 2 rather small coils with narrow ID and little cotton.
I'd get an OBS Crius, Kayfun 4 or Lite Plus 2, UD Zephyrus 2, FeV 3, Orchid v6, GT-T 2, something in that range (only mentioning some that i tried) if you want to go dual-coil.
When using Kanthal i do a single coil build on the STM, 24 Awg, 5 to 6 spaced wraps around ID 3mm, which gives me an average 0.5 Ohm resistance, @25 Watts, tight above the air-hole for max flavour.
