Coil question

So I've started building my own coils. Must say it is kinda fun. A little aggravating but I feel proud when I get where I want it and it works.

Anyway. I've been running my rda at .8 ohm and it works great. My question is why does 1 coil after 3 days look 3 months old and the other completely opposite? Still burns good and great cloud production. Just don't understand

I am assuming you are using a dual coil setup...

When you did a test fire without wicks did they both heat up at the same time (and in the same way)?

If they are the same resistance (which they should be) they should both heat up identically.

It could be an uneven wick problem, one with too little wick perhaps.

Yes they did. Inside to out.
Can't remember 3 days ago so when I change wick I'll check.
Yes same resistance. Made sure about that.

Like I said its working awsome. No hot mod, tip, or cap. And when I hit it, I hit it

As you say the coils are the same, it must be a wick issue (in my opinion), that is unless you have the origen V1 with the separate juice wells & have different juices in each...

The only other thing is airflow, but I am sure that is equal for each coil.

Someone else might come along with some more suggestions...

What is the RDA that you are using?

sounds like you most likely have too much wick in one of the coils.. if you're using cotton you can slightly burn it over time with too much wick even fully saturated.. the juice itself will also... caramalize(?) sooner, and it will present itself on the coil..

Using a omega which is fine and a overdose which came with the mod. The overdose is the one I'm talking bout.

CAW! Sometimes when my dual microcoil builds do this I double check how secure the + connections are. Sometimes, when one, or both, are not firmly captured, I experience this issue. I also have found that over use, I assume from expansion and contraction, one of them may be a bit loose. So...I loosen the + screw, examine BOTH of the legs connected there, re-connect and re-try. This usually will resolve this issue or make the lagging coil more in sync with the hotter one. CAW!

So should the cotton be loose fitting or snug. I usually kinda pack it in the well just so I don't have to drip every 2nd hit

Don't pack your cotton, just lightly push it in the well. Also make sure that the cotton can move easily through the coils. I would take out the cotton, dry burn the coils and stick it on a ohm meter. Tap the coils and see if there's a change in the reading as you tap them. If your reading changes you'll need to fix them before moving on.

Ok I understand the cotton stuffing. What if when I tap them they come to the original read ohm? Or is it if it flexes at all I need to fix
