Why is my sense arrow mesh.15 ohm coil reading as .01 ohms on my mod thus obviously shorting my batteries. I tried another coil and it reads at a perfect.15 ohms is it just a bad coil?
Yes, it has a short.

Are you using a mech or regulated mod? A regulated mod's protection circuitry should have detected the short and refused to fire and thus save your batteries.

What batteries are you using? Make, model, and amp rating?

It is a regulated mod thankfully so all is fine I’m using a think vape Thor with Hohm Tech Hohm life 3000mah 21.9A CDR it was just the one coil that read that way which has never happened before so I was just wondering if it was just a bad coil
Looked up your mod. It's a dual battery 200 watt with a minimum atomizer resistance of 0.05 ohm. Two of your batteries should be good for a wattage setting of up to 120 watts.

HohmLife 36.3A 3077mAh 18650 Bench Test Results...only a 20A- battery but a great one, equal to HG2

Yes, you got a bad coil. When I used drop in coils like you're using I would come to expect that on average, 1 in a pack of 5 would be defective. Occasionally I'd get lucky and get a couple of packs in a row with all 10 being good. Always a great idea to check your ohms after installing and before firing, most regulated mods will display a "atomizer short" message.

There’s definitely something wrong with either the internals of the coil or the way it was attached. Unfortunately taking it apart to repair it will probably ruin it, so the easiest thing to do is just throw it away

Yeah I’m just gonna toss it I’ve got plenty of others to use just weird I’ve never really had any issues with sense coils before I swear by there mesh they last a long time and fortunately there pretty cheap plus I decided to finally cave and make the jump to rebuildables and ordered a Zeus Duel RTA so I’ll see how that goes soon.
It could just be a bit of wire that fell in a hole or a badly machined part or something. It would probably be trivially easy to fix once taken apart. Getting it back together though is the rub.

You're going to love the world of rebuilding. I have the Zeus and really like it. I also have a few single coil rta's that I use at work because they use less battery and juice, I save the dual coil set up for at home. Once you get the wicking down the flavor from an rta will really surprise you. I'd suggest watching a bunch of YouTube vids before you get it

Yeah several friends keep telling me to try the Zeus they all seem to love it so I figured I’d try it and see they did all say the same thing though that at first wicking it can be difficult but if I don’t over pack the juice wells I should be fine. It’s definitely gonna be an adventure to say the least
