so i built two coils to fit in my Aqua clone which will be arriving tomorrow and im pretty happy with how they look but am concerned of the ohms because im using a twisted coil of 30 AWG kanthal so i want to test the resistance of my coils tonight to make sure they are ready to slap on tomorrow and wanted to make sure im getting an accurate reading (the reading with an accurate multimeter is 2.6ohms) So just to be clear here is how i measured the reading
1. placed the coil flat on my wooden desk.
2. Placed lead ends on the ends of the coil
3. Subtracted the resistance of the leads

Was that right? is it accurate? does the surface i measure on make any difference?

that will work my friend. my multimeter leads can accommodate gator clips (sold separately), I find these better when testing, not that the straight leads wont work its just that when you can clip onto the wire its instant, where as when I test without the clips it jumps all over for a few seconds. anyways twisted 30g for dual coils may be a little slow imo, especially at such a high resistance. just seems like a lot of wire. let us know how it turns out my friend.
