I'm going to get a gizmo today! And washers and thumb screw thingy and wing nut and wire and cotton! Wow! A busy day! But I got my Lemo and it's time to play☺

You are going to love it. Just be sure to make sure you have tension on that wire! The coils come out beautifully.

SpaceCase....here you go.....

I absolutely love ReadyXwick. I would rather use that than anything else. To use it, you will want to insert something small inside the piece of wick that you cut and wrap your coil around it. Don't try to thread it through the wick. You will end up with frayed ends that have to be cut off (wasting the expensive wick) and very frustrated. I use one of the really long sewing straight pins with the yellow ball end. You can use a large needle of any kind. You will need 14 wraps each coil for 2mm.

You can use only one coil in that RDA. You do not have to use 2 coils. If you opt for one coil, you will make 7 wraps for one coil only. When you have 2 coils, you have to double the amount of wraps on each coil. In other words: single coil only 7 wraps. Dual coil 14 wraps each coil.

Edit: the smallest diameter "rod" in the coiling gizmo you ordered is good for inserting into the ReadyXwick and then manually wrapping your coil around the ReadyXwick. You don't want to make a 3mm coil and put the 2mm wick inside it. This wick does best with the coil snug around it. It is ok that there will be space left inside the wick when you remove the wire or pin. The wick will still be snug inside the coil. A 3mm coil with 2mm wick allows too much space and your wicking won't be as effective.

No, you have to "screw" the readyxwick into the coil you made. I've tried and tried. I can't do it.

You can thread it through the wick or wrap around the wick. I was able to thread through FAIRLY easily but only because I had the exactly right sized coil.

I'm not using the RxW right now because I'm a Reo user and had trouble keeping the wick wet enough. Too many dry hits, operator error I'm sure. I'm going to try it in another device someday because I love the idea and longevity.

Do you just wrap around the readywick then? I was looking at it, right now I use cotton and feed it through after the fact in my fogger.

I use the screw in technique. There is a great vid on the RxW site that shows it. You can also do the wrap technique as well, just be sure to have a mandrel inside the wick or it kills the efficiency.

I'm a Reo user too, and I noticed I get A LOT of dry hits after the bottle gets about 1/2 way down. Any ideas on how to remedy this? Soigee?

For those getting a lot of dry hits with RxW, Make sure you don't have a hot leg. I've found a spaced coil gives me more of warning that a dry hit is coming and more hits between squonks. Also the wick seems to need a break period to hit its wicking peak, for me that's about 1/2 a day.
Thanks, FB!!!

I'm pretty sure it's the hot legs that are doing it. I've tried Sx's method, but can't seem to get rid of them completely.

I run the mandrel or needle I used to make the coil through it after each of several heat to glowing cycles. I also pull on the mandrel a bit to try and tighter up the wraps and straighten the legs. If still there after several heat cycles I trash that coil and start again. I only get them about 1 in 15 times now.
