coils burning on side

ok I apparently I need some help. The last two coils I built for Penelope are not burning on top of the coil, but instead are glowing on the side where the ceramic channel is. I cant figure out what I am doing wrong. Not the first time I built a coil and its just weird seeing the glow on the side instead of on the top. Help please.

probably got your resistance and non resistance wires all mixed up

Well you either mixed your wire up and have resistance wire going down the sides and no resistance on top. -OR-

You are wrapping your connections down too long and some of them are lose and in the channels?

I would think it's more likely a wire mix up.

Yep, that's what you want. Resistance wire is in the middle
