Coils close to posts are close to top cap wall?

I built this time with my coil legs pretty close to the posts, but I usually make them close to the atty walls.... Whats the general consensus on this, or does it even make a difference? Using a Magneto mod, a parallel .19 dual coil with .28 kanthal on a Igo-w,and vtc4. So, make em close to the posts are as close to the airholes but without touching??? TIA

Close to the airholes without touching is where you wanna be.

It makes a huge difference. Out by the air you can adjust your coil higher for more TH or closer to the deck for less TH and generally provides a smoother vape.

Some of that smoother vape is due to losses due to the long legs, this type of loss can be minimized by using NR-R-NR type coils if you are so inclined.

In the end it really is a matter of personal preference, build the atty to your own liking and leave the idea of popular consensus being what is right to teen girls.

I'll agree to a point. Personal preference is always the end goal. However you can't throw function out the window?
Air passing around a coil delivers the most promising results. Placing the Coil/wick within the air path is required to accomplish this.

I personally have used N-R-N wires to test the theory. The improvement from better placement was clearly noticeable.
Without using N-R-N wires you may have to do coil modifications that would take away any gains.

Omega - Center drilled 3mm holes(an Anomaly)
Quad Dragon Coils in N-R-N built on 45 degree up to center and near openings(2 x 3mm)
Resistance .67ohm
Vapor Production - Heavy
Flavor - EXCELLENT

2 other Omega's with basic Dual coils - Blah:closedeyes:
