As a newbie to the do it yourself vape experience, I often buy stuff and then go back later and say "now what the frick was I gonna do with this"? Being somewhat unfamiliar with coil heads I purchased several different types, namely vision bottom coils, protank 1.8 and 2.4. I'm pretty sure those are also used for the EVOD, which was why I chose them. So I managed to fry one in my evod by letting the tank go dry, and this would be the first time I had to change one out. Ok, so I thought the original one that came with it was 2.4, so I just popped another one into it. Took one huff and gag, cough, gag, forgot to prime it, cuss cuss cuss. Pretty sure I fried it, so stick another one in, this time pretty sure I got it right. The thing is, the taste just doesn't seem right, has very bitter alcohol like flavor. First thought is, well maybe I should pop a 1.8 in and see what happens. Same thing, vapes ok but the taste, well it's just "off". Is it possible there's something I'm missing here? I cleaned it, primed it, don't think there's much to it. Just can't quite figure out why the flavor has changed so drastically. I dumped the juice and put a flavored one in, that seemed to help. Does it just need to be used a bit to get it going? I actually prefer the evod to the protank, it's a nice vape for me.

What are you using the Evod and Protanks on? Is it a variable voltage device? Chances are, you need to fiddle with the voltage output on your device.

A general rule of thumb is to add 2 to your head resistance to get your starting voltage. So if you put a 2.5 ohm head into your tank, your starting voltage should be 4.5 volts. Vape, then adjust upwards or downwards as necessary until you find your sweet spot for that setup.
