Maybe I'm crazy, I don't use a jig or anything. I've wrapped nano coils on 1/32" bits, but 3/64" is my preferred micro coil size. My technique involves steady tension without trying to wrap them tight. Light, steady tension. Let the loose end of the wire slide into the next wrap as you go.

Then just wrap and keep them coils touching.
Takes some practice but I rarely ever mess a coil up. I just wrapped 3 micros in the past 30 minutes, and I'm wrapping 2 more in different sizes. Bits, jig, or blunt tip needle is really the way to go with micros.
Like you, I use 3/64" for my micro coils for my PT2/Mini's...but I use a block of scrap wood for a jig -- one edge for 3/64", one for 1/16" (for my IGO drippers...). Using a set screw to hold one end of the wire while winding keeps my wraps tight - and touching!!:D
Just started winding my own coils a couple of weeks ago when I got my first IGO-L...and have progressed to rebuilding PT2's and Mini's!!
Gotta be careful now....I'm likely to end up spending more time WINDING than vaping!!
Happy (vaping) Trails!

Nice, I could make a jig out of some wood if I could ever find the time. My fingers would thank me

In fact I might just try something easier since I have no clue what happened to my dremel. Think I'm going to dedicated my 3/64" bit to wrapping coils and wrap the handle end in duct tape until it fits nicely in my palm.

He he he... ingenuity strikes again! Swoosh!

I've used either the screwdriver that came with my rebuildables or syringe needles to wrap my coils, but I've also used the drill bit, my preferred has been the syringe needles for nano coils 20 guage seems perfect.

I have a piece of wooden bannister with holes drilled in it (Fostner bits) that holds most of my 'stuff. It's located between me and my monitor on my desk. In the end facing me I drilled a hole using my 1/16th inch bit. When I want a new coil, I insert the bit into the hole, hold the end of the kanthal with my thumb or fore finger, and wrap away!

what is the diffrence in micro and regular? do they not do the same thing?

I'm not saying I know everything but imo micro and nano coils heat up faster than a regular coil. I've been using micro coils for a while now and have been on the nano kick for a couple months. The vapor and flavor from micro and nano coils far surpass that of regular coils. I follow riptripper on youtube and he can make some coils! I've been using the nano dragon coil and have been trying to nail the diamond and tricro coils but these are a little tougher. For micros I use a small phillips and nanos I use the 20 guage syringe needle. It takes alot of patience and trial and error but these coils are well worth it. Also, remember it's not about the equipment or the best wrapped coils, it's about what works for you. If you are satisfied with wrapping 2 ohm coils around silica wick then it works for you but myself I am on a journey to find the best vape and am never satisfied with one setup and one method. I have friends who use an ego with cartos and that makes them happy and that is what it's about what satisfies you and keeps you off smokes, I'm a tinkerer so the building and rebuilding actually satisfies me and then of course the vape after a well built sub ohm coil, but it can be frustrating at times as well lol.
