I have protank 2s and evod tanks. The kanger coils only seem to last about 2 days at best. Debating getting an aspire nautilus but the price of replacement coils is a lot higher. Will they last longer? I hear people saying that their coils last a week or more, even with kanger. I just dont see it. Maybe i chain vape but i dont feel like i do.

I have a bunch of used coils saved to try dry burning, but i want to know if the nautilus coils have an improved life and are worth 3 times the cost.

I would be inclined to think, no. It sounds like you may be using an e-liquid that gunks up coils quickly (high VG), so it would do that with any coils, no matter how much they cost.

Your best bet would probably be a rebuildable atomizer, so you build your own coils, and could therefore build them in a way that would lessen the gunking. I don't know how that would be, since I use very thin juice myself, but have heard others mention it. The main thing is, you don't have to keep paying and paying for replacements, if you build your own.

Dry burning will extend the coils' live tremendously though, and protank coils can also be rebuilt. It's a little more challenging since they're so small and you have such a small space to work in, but if you can build those coils, you can build any, and so be able to make good use of a real rebuildable atty. That was how I first started learning to do it, rebuilding protank and T3S (also kanger) coils. It's not *hard*, it's just a matter of learning the steps involved, and getting used to working with such tiny items in such tiny spaces.

If your going through coils really fast maybe it would help you if you got a RBA (rebuildable atomizer) and started building your own coils. In the long run its cheaper. I w seemed to be going through a lot of coils myself on my kanger and decided to try a rba. The Taste is amazing with the rba and wick and wire is not that much. I'm not rebuilding for crazy clouds or any thing like that I'm just starting out but it sure has been nice just to make my own coil when I need it. If you keep going through coils fast you might consider making them yourself and get a rba. Another thing you can look at is what might be causing your coils to fade so quickly. What is your pg vg ratio? How many volts are you vaping on? Look at things like that and maybe you can figure out why the coils are failing so quickly. Hope this helps and best wishes

I've found sweet juices gunk much faster than others regardless of pg/vg ratio.

If you are vaping sweet juice, dryburning will greatly improve the life and it's easy. Just pop the stem off and carefully remove the wicks (3 little strands). If the coil has black "cake" on it it needs to be dry burned. Just pulse your battery and it will burn away. Most work good as new.

Why do you think VG gunks up coils?

Probably because a) it's thicker, and b) it gunks up my chest. I call it "vegetable gunk." :D But, except for when MFS was out of the PG-blend Virginia, I don't use a great deal of it myself (*because* it gunks up my chest), so I don't really know for sure. I could be wrong. Foot/leg swelling doesn't sound anything like dehydration, but it can be a sign of it, weirdly enough. Go figger!

Well, PG dries out my mouth and throat, so I avoid vaping anything higher than about 35% PG.

But neither my mouth and throat nor your chest are representative of what's happening at an atomizer's wick and coil. ;)

IMO, it's the flavorings that gunk up wicks and coils. I don't think the VG/PG ratio makes and real difference.

Anecdotally, I've got a dripper that's never had anything but unflavored 35/65 (PG/VG) and 100% VG WTA run through it since I last recoiled it. The coils in it look bright and shiny and cotton is clean.
