cold atty= dead?

If when you try to use an atty and it won't heat at all, is it officially dead or can it still be saved? Both my attys for my fav 901 just died within days of each other, I wouldn't even have had time to order a back up if I had tried. I've got an npro, joye510, and a dse801, but they're just not the same. The 901 was my pacifier So, can I try to save them still or is staying cold mean it's time to bury them?

Boil them, rinse them, air dry and try again.

Dumb answer from me - a little lemon juice or vinegar, some hot water, soak overnight, rinse, blow out and let dry upside down. Simple and effective.

Okay Jim - everytime the subject of attys comes up you holler meter. So where the heck do I get a meter, and what do I ask for? Should I just go into the store (what store?) and pull the dumb broad act and tell them my e-cig atty died?

maryjo, Harbor Freight, any of the big box stores, farm supply store, hardware store - all kinds of places carry them. Just get an inexpensive one. It's common name is a multimeter.

Or you can check the sticky threads at the top of this forum. One is a thread is where prople were walked through the process, and the other is a troubleshooting file that you can download right into your computer. The Troubleshooting file will be updated from time to time, but now has the meter information with 2 available meters for under $5.00, and instructions on how to use it.

Remember, you have an electronic device. You have to test electronics accordingly. I wish every e-cig user would send me their bad attys. I know that over 50% would really be good. I'd never have to buy another atty.

I was a good girl and got the meter. It's only showing about .3-.5 set on 10 on all 3 of them. I assume that's bad since it is supposed to be 3-4 and not .3 or .4 right?

It's odd that there is an unusual reading, and it's consistant on 3 attys.
What kind of meter?
Probe wires plugged into the right sockets?
Selector Switch in the proper range area?
Good battery in the Meter?

I've had an atomizer for my 510 for about a month and dont get much smoke out of it. I've noticed that the coil only burns red hot on one side. I've tried boiling, alcohol and vinegar baths without success. How can i revive this puppy?

Set it at 100, now all attys are just showing 0.....

It is a 901 so it's hard to make separate contact with the inside and the threading
