Before GIVING, selling, DISTRIBUTING, DISPENSING, OR OFFERING TO SELL to any AN individual any cigarette or tobacco NICOTINE product, a person shall request from the individual and examine a government-issued photographic identification that establishes that the individual is eighteen years of age or older; except that, in face-to-face transactions, this requirement shall be IS waived if the individual appears older than thirty years of age

The fact that the legislation explicitly says "except that, in face to face transactions" leads me to believe that other types of transactions other than face to face are still permitted provided that the seller "requests and examines" an ID. They did not say that there could be NOT be ANY non face to face transactions. The question is, how does an internet vendor "request and examine" an ID? Would vendors be allowed to accept a photocopy or scan of an ID? How about a Skype call with video? They could do a screen cap of your face, and file it in the order? Orwellian for sure, but you'd still be vaping...

How about a skype account, cheap web cam and mike, face to face for original account sign up and id? From then on that account can order.

:vapor:

Sorry.. I missed this post where you had already stated that...

I think that there may be an electronic means to verify ID from a distance. There is some hope.

Colorado already banned the sale of e-cigs to minors back in 2011

Colorado – 2011 (COLO. REVISED STAT. § 18-13-121)

Need to find the text of that statute and compare to new bill, but CO legislators probably won't be interested in revisiting this issue after just banning the sale of e-cigs to minors in 2011.

Still need to locate the text of 2011 CO law banning e-cig sales to minors.
Colorado – 2011 (COLO. REVISED STAT. § 18-13-121)

But here's a news article saying CO Gov. Hickenlooper signed the bill banning e-cig sales to minors
http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnewsold/ci_17700941

And the bill approved by the CO Senate in 2011 is at

2011 ECF discussion thread on the CO legislation is at

One of the online gun shops I deal requires a photo ID, they allow you to email or fax a scanned copy of your ID.

Or you could organize a recall for those who vote to pass the bill, worked well a few months ago.

Now we know how all those kids are getting their weapons. Cali and Colorado, better get on this immediately, it's for the children! A 13 year old kid can sneak his parent's ID, fax it to the gun dealer and use the credit card his parents gave him so he has a way of spending his allowance.

Amazing is it not . . . Pass a law that allows recreational use of ......... but push to ban e-cigs. Oh yeah, that seems reasonable . . . REALLY?
Sure it's reasonable. Why shouldn't society endorse something which makes you even more stupid than you already are? Gives a iron clad out for when you screw up. There's no stupidity to be gained in striving for something that might take a little bit of ingenuity and *reasoning*.

To me it appears that history is repeating itself. The days of Prohibition are back . . . for this generation. All these bans which are being passed for the good of the people should open the door(s) to the "Black Market" no?

If memory serves, the FDA (?all federal agencies?) are specifically prohibited from issuing regulations that would result in creating a black market. As I see it, this is one of the dilemmas the FDA is trying to resolve right now and may very well be one reason they've delayed so long in issuing the deeming regs (just my opinion). Because they know damn well that if they restrict ecigs into oblivion, a black market will result.

Everyone knows how well Prohibition worked (not), but the ANTZ want ecigs prohibited, so they're busy working up "restrictions" that are de facto prohibitions without actually using the word "prohibition."

And we're not going to let them get away with it! Are we?
