I couldn't find a pocket sized battery tester that I was happy with... So I "made" one. It's a voltage tester to test my batteries for my new mech (picked up a 4nine)... first time into mechs and wanted to make sure I was playing it safe.

Picked up these on amazon:
[h=1]Sinometer BT558 Self-powered Battery Tester[/h][h=1]DROK White LED 0.36" 3.0~30V Small Voltmeter Digital 18650 Cell-phone Lithium Battery Tester 5/12V DC Voltage Meter[/h]
Out of the box the sinometer would read high on 18650's (its meant for AA, AAA, and 9v batteries).
I ripped out the guts of the tester, then hot glued and soldered the digital voltmeter in its place.
I left it in the case when i was soldering, so parts got melted a bit, but now I know for next time - dont solder when I'm sleepy and pressed for time.. lol

Aside from me warping the case so it doesnt snap together as well as it did, and the gaps on either side of the screen, i think it turned out nice. Will probably get a small piece of Plexiglas or something and trim it down to size for the screen, time will tell though.

seems to work good, and not bad for around $10.

Just wanted to share...

what are your thougts on a custom ohm meter?

lol -
here

did you mean pocket-able? at that point may as well get an apv i think.
I've been rebuilding since like feburary. I haven't had any inconsistencies with my coils that I can think of, so I dont personally see the need.
