The land of no chewing gums
I am wondering if there is any different in the digital board when purchasing. Based on the pictures in this thread, the voltage read is for eg, 3.8 instead of 3.80. Since the digital board is 3 digit, I wonder why it's doesn't read that way.
I am.asking cos I bought those at fasttech and did my meter with some spare 10ml bottles, and it does work but reading only at 3.8 instead of 3.80.
and so if I am measuring a voltage drop, it will not be as accurate.
Imagine 3.89 reading as 3.8.

Hope you guys understand what I am.trying to explain.

I'm still kinda new around here, hope i posted this in the right section.

For on-the-go battery voltage testing for mech mod users. A cheap, fun, and easy project.

I basically cut open a carto, soldered wires to the postive and negtive terminals inside. I than soldered it to voltage meter. Than stuffed the whole thing into a carto tank.

Make sure you get a carto tank with plastic top and bottom caps, because you have to etch in some grooves (I used a mini-dremel) to let the voltage-meter fit in the tank. I had metal caps and it sucked very bad to make the grooves. Also make sure the carto-tank is tall and wide enough, the dimensions of the meter are listed in the product info.

The tank-o-meter is accurate when compared to my Fluke multimeter.

Got inspiration from a french e-cig forum and a reddit thread

Nice professionally-done project. Finished model looks nice enough to sell. I'd buy one.

Put me down for one too, mine looks a lil fugly but aleast it works

Which diplay are you using? The one from the op only shows 2 digits although there is room for 3. Yours is shoeing all three. I want to build one but need the 3 digits for it to be useful

Hi buddy, do you have any link where you bought your LED display board?

No link unfortunately. I got that from another ECF member sometime back. Avidvaper used to carry them but i haven't seen them in stock for the longest time. Generally most folks give up and go the digital MM route.

This is the one I got off Ebay to use in my DIY voltmeter (~$3 shipped) built using parts from an ego charger, however, it took 2-3 weeks to receive my order. If my memory serves me right, the 30V meter panel will display 2 digits after the decimal whereas the 17V will only display 1, but it's better to confirm with the seller if this is important to you.

Glad I found this thread. Very nice Rice!

I have currently ordered various led displays from ebay that will display x.xx up to 9.99 then show xx.x up to 30v. I have 4 different colors coming in as well. Some are adjustable to make sure the reading is accurate if need be as well.

Now I need to find the the best tanks to use that are cheap along with the proper threaded fittings.

I saw the link to madvapes for the fittings but I am unclear if that 1 fitting will work both for the top and bottom. I also prefer the silver colored fittings.

For the tanks, I am looking for black ends with smoked glass/plastic, but will probably try silver ends as well. I want to make some various ones to see what I like best plus; never know If I will run into anyone that might want one.

Any help finding the tanks and exactly what threaded ends are needed would be greatly appreciated. I found a European site that has all black housing with red led and it is probably my favorite but I am not willing to pay the premium. I know I can find what I need, just might take a little bit. Thanks for any info to help me on this project

I will post what I can when I do the builds.
