If any of you have ordered from deal extreme a retailer in Hong Kong and have a comcast.net email, Comcast.net is blocking most HK incoming IP addresses.
So you will not be receiving email confirmations of your orders or tracking information etc.

I am trying to get deal extreme's outbound IP address so that comcast can unblock it.

Comcast think they need to protect consumers from spam, so they randomly block incoming mail servers from abroad.

They should meet Paypal, and the FDA, and perform a threesome of idiots.

That's actually a common practice these days. In fact, the network I manage only accepts e-mail from the USA. Before we implemented this, we were averaging 15-20k spam messages a day, and more then probably 90% of them originated from overseas. The problem is, a lot of the HK hosting companies don't care if their users are sending spam, as long as their bills are being paid. Opening that one IP could still open up the potential for spam.

Like I explain to our users, I understand it's a problem for the one person that is trying to receive a legitimate e-mail. But it's much more of a problem for everyone to deal with tens or hundreds of spam e-mails in order for one legitimate user to get theirs.

If I may offer some advice: Go setup a free Google GMail account, and use it to place your orders. In the settings, you can set it to forward all e-mail to a secondary account, which you can make your comcast account. Problem solved! You'll instantly bypass Comcast's IP blocks and receive your e-mail.

Sorry for your frustration! :(

Everyone's not already using Gmail? For shame!
