Well, a few months ago I posted about leaving the e-cig world because I joined the Army. I'm currently being discharged because of a knee injury and will be back home in a few weeks. Planning on getting back into vaping when I get home and need a new setup.

Sold all of my stuff I had before I left. So now I'm on the hunt for a new setup. Nothing too extreme. Looking to spend $150 or less to get started. What's y'alls recommendations? I'm open to suggestions.

Sorry to hear about your injury and your having to leave the army @TexasRebel.

What were you using before and what are you looking for in a new setup?
Thanks, and it's fine.

Before, I was just using a KangerTech EvoD battery with a Aspire K1 tank. It was just a starter that I bought to see if I would like vaping. I'd like to get something bigger this time around. Not for sure what I want as far as brands go. Just a good setup to use as a base.

Hi and welcome. Sorry to hear about the knee. I did ACL replacement surgery 15 years ago, and bad knees are not a lot of fun. You might look at a Kanger Subox. It comes bundled with the Subtank that is very versatile and would allow you to try different styles. It's nowhere near $150 bucks.

howdy - and welcome back

sorry to hear about the knee - that sucks - and thank you for your service, brother!

+1 on suggestion for the kanger subox - or possibly an innokin disrupter (also 50w mod) with one of the new kanger subtank mini v2's (same tank that comes with subox kit) - initial set up cost for either rig is about the same (subox kit with 2 batteries and external charger or disrupter with extra battery pack and kanger subtank mini v2)

I'm going to go against the crowd and suggest istick 50w or 40w tc with the same subtank mini. Way more convenient not to have to deal with those pesky batteries and chargers. Imo 18650 are perfect for more powerful mods, why bother in the smaller ones?
:) check out the disrupter - not sure about the 40w tc istick, but haven't there been a number of issues reported specifically with the 50w?

Apparently early production ones, mine and friends still going strong month later. Cant beat the price if you keep in mind spare batteries and charger (which is more of an investment if you plan on moving to something bigger later on however). My subox battery didn't last all day where is an istick lasts me for 2.

About how much does that setup cost? How is it in comparison to the Kanger Subox?

The evic vt is about $60 at Vapingcheap and around $30 for the Subtank,

the device features like a huge 5000mah internal battery and over sized HD OLED screen. It has a variable wattage output that can be adjusted from 1 to 60 watts as well as a temperature control feature that can limit the temperature of Nickel wire coils from between 200 and 600 degrees.

One features on the eVic-VT that I haven’t seen before is a VT mode that supports Titanium an Nickel wire. In VT mode you can use atomizers with a resistance between 0.05 and 1.0ohms. With kanthal wire it supports coils between 0.15 and 3.5ohms.

Subtank is the best tank I've used so far aside from my Delta II. ;)

Sounds like another good option to keep in mind. Thanks.
